Did Jesus ever Laugh? Did he even smile?

Did Jesus ever laugh? Did he even smile?
:)
[Ecclesiastes 3:4, a time to weep and a time to (laugh), a time to mourn and a time to dance,]

Laughter, I wonder did Jesus ever laugh out loud? Did he enjoy a funny story or situation? Or was he always sober, straight laced and stoned faced when dealing with people? If when walking with the disciples, if one of them slipped in a mud puddle and fell on his backside, did Jesus laugh? Did he found humor in the simple things that can happen in our daily lives? In Jesus ever come right out with a big belly laugh, the kind that can even bring tears to your eyes because you have laughed so hard?

Little children were drawn to Jesus. Have you eve seen a child go to someone how had a sour puss of a look on his or her face? I have not. Children are drawn to laving, warm people and loving warm people smile and laugh.

God created us in his own image. If we can laugh than then so can Jesus. God also created a duckbilled platypus and a blue footed booby. And how funny is the giraffe with his long neck or an anteater's nose?

These are rhetorical questions, as the Bible tells us very little about Jesus in his day-to-day personal life. Jesus did use humor in his teachings.

[Luke 6:21, Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you we weep now, for you will (laugh).]

In several different books of the Bible, we have verses telling us that laughter is good for the spirit that joy abounds and peace brings happiness. But did Jesus laugh?

A recent TV commercial claims that laughter can add 8 years to your live.

I watched a short video clip about Charismatic-Christians-holy-laughter' and I am not talking about that type of a church service falling down on the floor, howling like animals and barking like dogs. You can form your own opinion of this video. This type of laughter' is not what I am talking about.

[Psalms 126:2, Our mouths were filled with (laughter), our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things for them.]

All scripture is from the NIV.

I think God laughs...at us especially but we are created in Gods image and we have a sense of humor. I think it is HIS!

God loves laughter! He created it. He used humor in creation. You're right, a lot of Jesus' teachings reflect humor. Unfortunately since most of us aren't familiar with the language and culture, it slips by us. The Bible has a lot to say about joy which to me is more than just happiness. It overflows and spills over to touch everyone around it.

Although there are a few tears in my cancer support group there is a lot more laughter. It is surprising how the laughter flows from these women (and their spouses) who have faced or are facing painful and uncomfortable treatments or death. There is healing and hope in laughter. Humor enables you to feel like you can seize the day. I know that I'd have a difficult time facing the day without it so one of my daily prayers has been for God to fill my mouth with laughter and my heart with joy. Even as I write this, I can feel God's smile

I think one of life's greatest pleasures is a good laugh. It's better than mood-altering drugs, which you ceratainly don't need when you have the joy of the Holy Spirit.

John 11:35. Jesus wept. (end quote)
If Jesus wept, why wouldn't He laugh? As a man, Jesus was subject to every temptation that we as humans face, yet Jesus was impervious to temptation, and without spot or blemish. I can imagine Jesus smiling, with a little help from a recently posted drawing. But there's a time and place for everything. Jesus Christ didn't come into the world the first time to clown around. Maybe in His Kingdom, we'll get to hear Him laugh.

  [bible]Ecclesiastes 3:1-8[/bible]

No Jesus did not come into this world to act like a clown and make people laugh. Neither did God intend for us to go through life joyless.

[bible]Proverbs 17:22[/bible]
Taking this life too seriously only causes health problems for a person. No one wants to be around a sour puss.

Good post sister. Jesus came into this world as a man. He walked this earth and lived in the same flesh we live in. While Jesus was on earth He had no power or knowledge which is not available to each one of us. Yes, Jesus is God, Jesus was with God in the beginning and Jesus was God. However, when Jesus came into the world He made Himself a little lower than the angels so He could suffer and die for us. Man is, in our present condition, a little lower than the angels. Jesus experienced every emotion, every desire, every temptation any man has every experienced. However, Jesus never sinned. He is our perfect example, He walked this earth in the same power God has made available to all who believe. When Jesus began His ministry He was baptized in the Holy Spirit receiving power from On-High for the ministry. This same Power is available to all who believe today. When Jesus was on earth He only had the knowledge His Father blessed Him with. This is made perfectly clear in His statement: "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father".

It amazes me how many believe that even now Jesus does not know. Jesus knows, Jesus is God and Jesus is all knowing.

So, yes, Jesus did laugh, Jesus smiled, Jesus picked and joked with His friends, Jesus was human during His first earthly stay.

Glory to the King who is soon to return!

Hey, everybody, look what I found:

12. The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.
13. The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming. (Psalm 37:12-13) (end quotes)
Notice, in verse 13, is says "The Lord shall laugh..." (end quote) I guess this settles it.
I should thank ChristianBlog member psalmthirtyseven for steering this my way.

Smiles . . . I seriously hope God has a sense of humor. If He dosen't there are a bunch of us who are going to be in deep trouble.

YES! I think God has a wonderful sense of humor. He has a winning personality. When I do something dumb and funny, I can almost hear Him laughin t me. He delights in seeing us have fun too. Some friends and us get together and play Monopoly and have a ball. I believe God is watching us and having fun with us and smiling at us. Just like we love to see our kids having good clean fun, our Father enjoys seeing us having fun too.

That was funny, made me laugh! haha =)
I do think God has a good sense of humor, humor is nothing bad when it doesn't hurt or offend anybody. Humor makes people happy, so I definitely think God can laugh too. And in case God doesn't have a sense of humor, I'm in big trouble like harvest said ;-)
