Just follow the recipe and you’ll have a great meal.
Back a few years ago, I enjoyed cooking. It was my custom to find a new recipe once a month and try something different.
Well, I found this recipe with rice and ham. It picture was of beautiful looking meal. I followed the recipe and had the table set nice for a family dinner. We started to eat. It was a very bland tasteless dish. The kids complained.
My husband and I did not like the casserole either. I told the kids I had worked very hard preparing this meal and that Dad and I didn’t like it either. But we were going to eat it now because it was too late to fix anything else and it was eatable.
I did promise to destroy the recipe right after dinner.
We all ate. As soon as I started clearing the table the kids wanted to know were that recipe was. They took that recipe, ripped it into very tiny pieces and the three of them throw it in the trash. They wanted to make sure I never used that recipe again.
Sometimes all our plans just do not work. What seems like a good idea or plan is not what it seems to be. When we are young so many times we come up with what we think are fantastic ideas. As we age, we become more careful but still follow rabbit trails that lead nowhere.
Even when we follow the rules things do not work out right. Good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people. The rain falls on the just and the unjust, the righteous and the unrighteous.
Matthew 5:45
But it is not all equal. God does indeed bless the righteous more then the unrighteous. I have seen blessing come to many people of God.
Romans 8:28
Those who know the salvation through Jesus Christ receive blessings others can not see or sometimes even understand. I am blessed because even though my hands are deformed I can still cross-stitch, sew and make many craft items. People sometimes are amazed but I am not. It is Jesus blessing me and keeping me useful.
Psalms 92:14
God blesses those who love and honor Him.
Psalms 5:12
The greatest blessing we have received is Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.
Psalms 32:1
