Please Mommy don’t let him, Mommy please

My daughter said these words with tears in her eyes and I cried also. But it had to be done.

Missy was three and a half years old. She had developed a very large boil on one side of her setting down place. One cheek side was twice the size of the other side. She looked rather funny so lopsided.

As she lay on the doctor’s exam table on her tummy, the nurse prepared her for the doctor to lance the boil. That is when she begged me not to let him do that. She started getting upset with that shot to numb the area.

I was crying also as I said baby it has to be done. There is no other way to treat a boil this size. When we left the office she was still crying some and complained that it hurt to set down. I told her to just lay on her tummy on the back set. That was before Michigan had a set belt law.

Within a couple of days, my happy little girl was running and playing again and not complaining every time she had to set down.

There are things in our life that we have to in one form or another lance. To open up and expose what is hidden. It is that hidden stuff that can hurt our spiritual growth. Rather it is a lack of forgiveness, resentment or bitter memories. It can be hurt’s from something at church or in our personal life.

Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. - Ephesians 4:31

  Love this blog Katz
It is such a great example of the depth of a parents love and of God's love. Life is not always a barrel of fun, sometimes things get really tough. That's when we need to reach out to our heavenly Father and hold tight to His hand till He gets us through the "tough stuff" yet not forgetting to praise Him in tough times as well as good times.
Blessings
