Have I Done My Best For Jesus?

Back when I was a girl, the Christian radio station my mom always listened to throughout the day would sign off with the song, "Have I Done My Best For Jesus" written by Ensign Edwin Young and Harry E. Storrs.
I wonder, have I done my best for Jesus,
Who died upon the cruel tree?
To think of His great sacrifice at Calv'ry!
I know my Lord expects the best from me.

How many are the lost that I have lifted?
How many are the chained I've helped to free?
I wonder, have I done my best for Jesus,
When He has done so much for me?

The hours that I have wasted are so many,
The hours I've spent for Christ so few;
Because of all my lack of love for Jesus,
I wonder if His heart is breaking too.

I wonder, have I cared enough for others,
Or have I let them die alone?
I might have helped a wand'rer to the Savior,
The seed of precious Life I might have sown.

No longer will I stay within the valley,
I'll climb to mountain heights above;
The world is dying now for want of someone,
To tell them of the Savior's matchless love.

I think this is a question we would all do well to ask ourselves at the end of the day. What have we done for Him and have we given Him our best?

In this busy world, it is so easy to just be focused on our own agenda. However, what are we really here to do? Do others see Him in us... or do they just see us in all of our um... glory? If we are honest, there are times all of us have been guilty of bringing shame to the name we bear... Christian or Christ-Follower.

May we daily seek the Lord, asking Him to help us do our very best for Him.

Blessings!

  That is a beautiful hymn. At the end the only thig that will matter will be if we have done enough for HIM.
Am I guilty of bringing shame to His name... hmmm I refuse to answer that, but I think we all know what the answer is don't we.

  Yes, Bethy... Am I guilty of bringing shame to His name? I know the answer to that question...
I am thankful for His love and grace and that He remembers I am but dust.

Blessings!

  What a beautiful song and so true to how we should look toward Him. Still the best words were yours..

  What a beautiful hymn - one I have not heard before. I would do well to reflect upon them on a daily basis.

Thank you K:princess:
