Everyone knows the parable of the prodigal son. The Father loved both His sons however one was not willing to continue in the plan of his Father and wanted his independence and inheritance immediately. The Father, being a loving and gracious Father, honored his son's desire, gave him his portion, and allowed him to go his own way.
His son, happy to have his own way, took his portion and went to a far country where he wasted all his possessions through prodigal living.
Not many years later there was a famine in the land, he had spent all he had, and he was in want. He went to all who would receive him and submitted himself to servanthood so that he might survive. His masters treated him harshly and he hungered. He would have gladly filled his stomach with the pods the swine ate but no one gave him anything.
In his need he remembered his Father and how well his Father treated the servants in His house and him, being a son, hungered. So he determined in his mind, I will go to my Father and say to Him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and before You. I am no longer worthy to be called Your son. Please, make me like one of your servants.
So he began his journey to his Father's house. However, when he was still far away his Father saw him, had compassion on him, ran to him and kissed him.
And the son said to his Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.
But his Father said to His servants, Bring out the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. Bring the fatted calf here and kill it. Let us eat and be merry. For this is my son who was dead and is alive again. He was lost and is found. All of his Father's servants began to be merry.
However, the Father's other son was angered when he learned his brother had returned home and his Father was treating him with royalty. He refused to join in the feast and celebration of his brother's return to his Father.
Therefore his Father came out and pleaded with him. So he answered his Father, All these many years I have been serving You. I never transgressed Your commandment at any time and yet You have never gave me a young goat that I might make merry with my friends. As soon as this son of yours came, the one who has betrayed You and devoured all You have given him with harlots, You killed the fatted calf for him.
And his Father said to him, Son, you are always with Me and all I have is yours. It is right that we should make merry and be glad for your brother was dead and is alive again. He was lost and now he is found.
My brothers and sisters, ISRAEL is the prodigal son and the body of Christ is the other son. The day is coming when Israel will cry out to the Father and our Father will welcome them with open arms.
Does the true Shepherd not leave the good sheep in the wilderness and go after the one which is lost? When he finds the one who is lost does He not invite His own to rejoice with Him for He has found His sheep who were lost? There is more joy in heaven over one who repents then all the redeemed who need no repentance.
A woman having ten silver coins if she loses one coin does she not diligently search until she has found the one which is lost. And when she finds the one which is lost, does she not rejoice? There is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sheep who repents.
One day soon each child of God will have to answer this question for themselves. When the lost sheep of Israel returns will we rejoice and be merry celebrating the return of he who was lost? Or will we in the arrogance of the anti-Semitic teachings of early church fathers reject them?
The angels in heaven will be rejoicing. Father will be filled with joy. Each one of us will have to answer to how we respond.
The word of God tells us over and over again that Israel will return to the land given to their fathers. Not one word of God will ever return without accomplishing the purpose for which it was spoken. Israel will return. When the fullness of the Gentiles has come in their blindness will be taken away and all Israel will be saved.
It is time the body of Christ turned away from the teachings of men and return to the word of God. The day is late.
Blessings to all.
