vacation in my mind
here in the south, the lighting bugs are out, the barbiques are running, and the pool water is splashing, yes it is summer vacation.. all the children are free from school for about two and a half months.. and yet many like myself is longing to get away take that summer vacation, pack up the car, with all the goodies and just drive away.. so what is stopping us, for many a lot of things, like for us, so i occassionaly take a vacation in my mind.. either by remembering past vacations, and all the good memories, or just let my imagination run wild.. the other day i was in my pool, just floating on the tube and remembering when i was in the hot tub, at the hotel many a years ago, when we did get away.. GOD IS SO GOOD i at least have a pool that i can float and swim in, and i can vacation in my pool.. sounds silly to some but for me, it is wonderful at least for a while i can get away from daily routene, and float in my pool.. where i live there are plenty of fields, and trees and animals, cows, goats, sheep, horses, donkeys, ect and i can just close my eyes and let my imagination run wild.. where will i go next, well that depends on how i think about it.. for me i am a mountin person, and no sadely enough i do not live in the mountains, i love to climb mountains, ride horses, and do water rafting.. so in my pool i can water raft.. just float on the mat or tube and pretend i am doing the real thing.. i look around where i live and many things can turn my mind into a vacation.. just open up the imagination.. you can do the same thing..
when i am siting in the back of the jeep, while my husband drives and my daughter is up front [ note i love to sit in the back ] many things comes to me, depending on where we are going.. for instance, sometimes a deer will shoot out in front of us, and run into the forrest will my mind immadetly will think of the mountains.. sharing food with the wild life, or eating watermellon on a park picinic table.. as a child the animals would come up to u and you could feed them out of you hand.. it was so awesome i also love animals.. i also love fun parks disney world/land seaworld, knotts berry farm ect, and like now wishing to be there i just close my eyes and remember when i was there many a years ago.. [ note i am still holding the faith that GOD will grant a get away ]
and for you my friends as well.. hold on to the sweet memories, it may be all you have.. go ahead and take a vacation in your mind, it can be fun..
