Living My Life

First entry! Now, what is it I want to share? I think I will simply explain why I have decided to plunge into the world of blogging. I appreciate the opportunity to express myself as a Christian in an atmosphere such as this. I have been blessed to be saved for a long time, since childhood, and still remain fascinated by the salvation experience as an adult. My closeness to God has waxed and waned, a sad fact of my life. Doesn't it seem to be human nature to put Him on the back burner when things are going well in our lives? I know for me that rings true; I have almost relegated God to being a magician of sorts, seeking His "slight of hand" when circumstances in my life have taken a turn for the worse, seeking His "quick fix" which is not only disrespectful but shows a shocking lack of the true reverence I should be exhibiting the Creator of all.

Thankfully, circumstances in my life as well as some spiritual maturity have shown me the error of my ways and allow me a peace and contentment which surpasses my ability to understand. I have a heavenly Father quick to forgive and restore my relationship with Him.

Welcome Sister Mizpeep :welcome:. Sometimes it is true that we take God for granted and only turn to Him after we have attempted other forms of help. Yet He is the best Help we can ever have, why do we turn to others in the first place?

Do continue to share and I look forward to your future blogs.

Blessings always

Thank you for the warm welcome.

I love the mornings, especially before the sun rises; I am blessed to have a front porch where I can sit in the swing and admire God's handiwork. I love seeing the monochrome world of gray shadows over a gauzy off-white give way to bursts of color which only God could paint as the sun peeks through the low-hanging branches of the oak tree and the sky melds into varying shades of pink then blue. I read recently that Steven (spelled Steven or Stephen?) Hawking, the learned professor of whatever subject way beyond my understanding, has pronounced that the world was not shaped by a Creator but was perfectly capable of coming into being simply by gravitational pull ... funny, who does he think is the Creator of gravity? I'm amused that the more "intellectual" one seems to be, the more irrational the protests are as to the existence of a Creator. Me, I'm fine being less erudite and completely enraptured by the "foolishness" of preaching and teaching about God and salvation through His only begotten son.

How wonderful to have a creator who actually created trees solely for the purpose of being pleasing to the eye (Genesis 2:9). What a God!
