I was really shocked to read the following heading on the 11 Feb 2009 edition of the telegraph.co.uk , the online edition of the Telegraph Newspaper one of the leading UK Newspapers:
The Vatican claims Darwin's theory of evolution is compatible with Christianity.
Below is a word-for-word reproduction of the first few passages from the article:
"The Vatican has admitted that Charles Darwin's theory of evolution should not have been dismissed and claimed it is compatible with the Christian view of Creation.

Archbishop Gianfranco Ravasi, head of the Pontifical Council for Culture, said while the Church had been hostile to Darwin's theory in the past, the idea of evolution could be traced to St Augustine and St Thomas Aquinas.
Father Giuseppe Tanzella-Nitti, Professor of Theology at the Pontifical Santa Croce University in Rome, added that 4th century theologian St Augustine had "never heard the term evolution, but knew that big fish eat smaller fish" and forms of life had been transformed "slowly over time". Aquinas made similar observations in the Middle Ages."

Well did the Apostle Paul warn Timothy in the following verses
Timothy keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and opposition of science falsely called: which some professing have erred concerning the faith
1 Timothy 6: 20-21
As far as I am concerned, believing in evolution in any form is tantamount to making the Lord Jesus Christ who made the following statement a liar
"And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Matthew 19:4-5 KJV
Joshua, the great servant of the Living God, the Lord is calling on the Vatican and all who ascribe to the theory of Evolution:
"And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." Joshua 24:15 (King James Version)
Yes indeed the choice is clear-- either to serve Charles Darwin and his theory of Evolution or to serve the King of Kings and Lord of Lord.
The choice is there for every individual to make, for as far as I am concerned, there is no way to reconcile the Lords statement in Matthew 19 : 4 with Charles Darwin's theory of Evolution.
