NBC edits Madonna Special

NBC has decided to edit the U.S. version of the Madonna special to air next month.

This news of course makes me happy. I've tried to keep pretty much up to date on this whole thing. I checked out the previews. Read her justification of it. I still wasn't very happy about it. Not that I'll even watch it without it!
Which is it? Life imitates Art or Art imitates Life? I wonder what fire this lights in the hearts of those that are anti-Christian?

So, we Americans won't actually see her 'on her cross'... other camera angles have been edited in. We will get to see her once she gets down onto the stage... wonder if she'll still be wearing the crown of thorns?
I don't know... and I won't know... .I won't be watching either way!

Of course there's the whole freedom of speech issue. Should Madonna have the right to add whatever imagery she wants to enhance what messege she's portraying? If we don't like it, we don't have to watch it. We aren't forced to submit to daily viewings of MTV.

The whole thing just rubs me the wrong way.
And I have the right to blog about it!
