Current Church Trends
Nowadys we are finding ourselves in a tricky position. With all the false teachers we are findng ourselves where the church of Corinth was.
In 1 corinthians 1 Paul says this 10I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought. 11My brothers, some from Chloe's household have informed me that there are quarrels among you. 12What I mean is this: One of you says, "I follow Paul"; another, "I follow Apollos"; another, "I follow Cephas[a]"; still another, "I follow Christ."
There is a false gospel rising inside the Church that preaches and 'easy way out' This appeals to the fleshly desires and so many "believers" are devoted followers of this gospel of no-sacrifice. These men and women leading this movement are frighteningly wealthy and are using this money for very selfish "needs" how neccesary is a private jet? We are being caught up in the same thing Paul warned us about here
2 Corinthians11
3But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough. 5But I do not think I am in the least inferior to those "super-apostles." 6I may not be a trained speaker, but I do have knowledge. We have made this perfectly clear to you in every way.
This is a false Christ being taught. Jesus specifically said not to store up wealth where moth and rust destroy. He said this about these men" Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean."
All we can do now to remain true to the Gospel in this day is the same way we should always remain true. Study of God's Word, the Bible. We've GOT to remain in his Word to remain true to the real Jesus. We are to be narrow-minded in the Truth. Truth is supreme and there is ONLY ONE TRUTH and that is in what Jesus said and did and the example He left for us
