His Arms Reaching Out To His Lost Children

It was a very interesting day of ministry for us. A group of 8 women and one man went out to a hotel in our city that has a pretty bad reputation. Oh, I have to back up, because before we went we met at church to pray. What an awesome prayer meeting it turned out to be. And as soon as we pulled into the hotel we knew why. We could seriously feel the ... hmmm... oppression? Some of the women got words like, death, murder, war, etc.

We go every 3rd Friday of the month, but today we could very much sense something oppressive. We took out gift bags of fruit with love notes from Jesus attached and cold bottles of water. We do not go door knocking and disturbing people. We minister to whomever we see out and about. And word gets out that we are there with something to give.

This was the first time we had been able to take fruit. And what a blessing it was that a grocery store manager donated it to us.

We weren't out there long before we heard the news. There has been a suicide involving a gun in the first hotel room a day or so ago. The police had not even released the room to be cleaned yet. So there was this oppression over the whole place. Most people were solemn and quiet today and staying indoors.

Over 2 years ago after an extended fast my husband woke up one Sunday morning and heard C... E Motel in his spirit. He knew Father was telling him to go there and begin his ministry. We told someone at church and the responses were such unbelief! Words of, " oh, you don't want to go there! - that's a BAD place you can't go there! - do you know what goes on in that place?!" etc. And my husband has gone there every Sunday but 2 in 2 years. He has seriously plowed ground! It did not happen quickly. It has taken time and commitment for people there to know he is real. He has built relationships, ministered and prayed with people regularly.

A grocery store here gives him a couple of baskets of day old bakery goods on Saturday and Sunday mornings and he bags it up individually. He takes a bag of food and calls out to someone asking if he can give them something. He gives the bag of food and tells them God loves them and asks if they have anything he can pray about with them. Opens doors for ministry. He is known out there as "preacher" and "pastor" tho he is not officially ordained anywhere. We consider him a Street Evangelist. A group in the church has now adopted the hotel. And are planting and harvesting. We are sending out a van to pick up those who want to come to services and they are coming! It has been awesome to see Father move out there.

I remember one of the first times we went. We pulled in and up front was a woman standing outside. He called her over and gave her a bag of food and prayed with her and she walked away. He was ministering to the next person when we looked up and saw the woman coming from the back of the hotel with another woman. She brought the woman clad in p.j.'s and a blanket up to my husband and asked him to pray with her because she had been beaten the night before and kicked out of where she was staying in only pajamas. It was just awesome for us that she went and brought someone back not for the food but for ministry and prayer...

There is a lost and hurting world out there in need and we can reach it one person at a time...

Blessings to you!
Tia

Thanks so much for your story - what an inspiration! Thank you for reminding me that I need to do more than just go through my every life. There are people out there with souls to minister to. Thank you for doing what you do!

Dear Tia,

My faithful sister in Christ, I can barely see past the tears in my eyes right now.

There is much to be done for the lost and hurting in our world. You and your husband are DOING it.

Praise God for you both.

This touches my heart more than anything:

It was just awesome for us that she went and brought someone back not for the food but for ministry and prayer...

That is what it's about.

Much love in Christ,

Virginia

Thank you all so much for your words of encouragement!

Virginia, in that moment when one woman brought another for prayer and ministry, I felt that we were seeing a living example of the story of Jesus and the woman at the well... my husband and I still talk about how touched we were at that moment...

He will be out there on the streets again today. Please keep him and those he ministers to in your prayers. His name is Joe.

Blessings to you all,
Tia
