Dim Sum - More than I can bear!

Dim Sum - More than I can bear!

Does the Lord ever give you more than you can bear?
Yes, He does, sometimes - that's when you need to turn to Him for hope, faith, strength, power and perseverance to go beyond yourself. Reach out to Him and He IS there for you.

How often have you felt it is more than I can bear when :
- sickness has laid you low on your back and you find that the enemy is pressing on you with pain and weakness and just hopelessness, when you would rather curl up like a baby in it's mother's womb and instead of living rather die?
- the debts have mounted so high that only an act of bankruptcy would quell the creditors' chase?
- duties and responsibilities mount and you think you have no help but face it alone? You are a single parent who has lost the fortitude that is required for you to meet the struggle for survival of not only yourself but also for the survival of your child or your children?
- your aged sick parent has suffered the worst bout of sickness and repercussions and you are the only carer and caring has become such a burden - if only you could have a break.
- there are so many jobs out there but no job for you or you are under-employed, and the months mount and it seems there is no real purpose in living because a man's job is him?
- sorrow for the bereaved spouse, parent or child gnaws with thoughts no one else on earth cares whether you live or die?
- your children who are too busy with their own cares, whom you raised with hands gnarled by labour, turn you in to live among strangers as lonely as you, rather than to take you home?
- it seems the whole world owes you a living but no one is out there you can call on?
- you have worked your guts out, feeling worn and weary and there are not enough hours for you to work more to earn your family's keep and yet you must go on or how will they?
- you feel so tired in facing the same obstacles that it seems life is all a struggle and just one more would blow your mind?
- you feel your heart has been wrenched and taken away by your one love or alternate love, and there is a big hole gaping in your chest?
- you feel incarcerated all lonely in a cell or separated in a faraway land, from family and friends who once supported you through it all?
- someone has taken advantage of you by force and you feel dirty, defiled, outraged and wanting revenge?
- you knock on heaven's door and ask is it time yet Lord? Why don't you take me home?

Psalm 69: 18- 20
Draw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it: deliver me because of mine enemies (real or feared or imagined). Thou hast known my reproach and my shame, and my dishonour, mine adversaries are all before thee. Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness; and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none, and for comforters, but I found none.

Psalm 69:3
I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried; mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.

It is not pity you need but power to rise up again in hope and faith and tenacity of purpose and endurance.

Isaiah 40 28-31
Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD , the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of His understanding. He giveth power to the faint and to them that have no might He increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall; But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Talking about the bad times
Oh we've been there
Had our world to crumble down
And only God would care

And you ask me about the valley
Yes I've been there
Had my heart to brake in two
And felt the tear drops flow

But we heard footsteps
Walking in the shadows
And a hand reaching out to tell us
He was there
But we heard footsteps
Walking in the shadows
And a hand reaching out to tell us
He was there

Standing somewhere in the shadows you'll find Jesus
He's the only one who cares and understands
Standing in the shadows you will find Him
And you'll know Him by the nail prints in His hand

And you'll hear footsteps
Walking in the shadows
And a hand reaching out to tell you
He is there
Yes you'll hear footsteps
Walking in the shadows
And a hand reaching out to tell you
He is there
And you'll know Him by the nail prints in His hand

Ah Jesus!! in his doubts You told doubting Thomas to "Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side; and be not faithless but believing." John 20:29

But these are written that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through His name. John 20:31

Father,
Help Thou my unbelief and please help me reach out to You and let You take over my life!
Cleanse my life of harmful attitudes and behaviors so that there is room for the good or the new things that You have for me and my loved ones. Take away the hate and prejudices, so I have room to love others as I should. Fill me with your compassion to forgive the hurts of past mistakes. Help me let go and allow myself to be filled with the love of God, strengthen and empower me and fill me with faith and hope. Father, help me to empty myself of everything that keeps me from You and draw me to Yourself. I will let you arise in my life. In Jesus' Name. Amen!

Will you let go and let God grow you?

Billy and 2G, may we trust Jesus whatever betide:

Trusting Jesus (Edgar Page Stites)
--

Simply trusting every day,
Trusting through a stormy way
Even when my faith is small,
Trusting Jesus, that is all.
Refrain

Trusting as the moments fly,
Trusting as the days go by;
Trusting Him whate'er befall,
Trusting Jesus, that is all.

Brightly does His Spirit shine
Into this poor heart of mine;
While He leads I cannot fall;
Trusting Jesus, that is all.

Refrain

Singing if my way is clear,
Praying if the path be drear;
If in danger for Him call;
Trusting Jesus, that is all.

Refrain

Trusting Him while life shall last,
Trusting Him till earth be past;
Till within the jasper wall,
Trusting Jesus, that is all.

Refrain

When we come to the end of ourselves we find Jesus there.

It sounds so simple doesn't it? -Trusting every day? -Great blog, Evelyn ... and it truly does touch on us all. I guess the "trick" is learning to take that all important moment when the world seems to be crushing in on you to realize that He is still there... and to realize there is no reason you have to bear your burdens alone.

Blessings!

Shadow,
For some time I resisted writing this blog, but that song "Standing somewhere in the shadows you'll find Jesus" kept playing in my mind.. this song I have not sung since I was a teenager so many years ago. Was it meant specifically for you Shadow? I do not know.. but He knows that there are several others who have burdens piled so high they can hardly breathe... and I pray that the message of this blog will breathe Jesus, His new life and energy and hope and faith to one who feels hopeless..sitting there wondering what to do and seeing the world go swirling by, too fast to catch up... for that one to realize in "that all important moment when the world seems to be crushing in on you to realize that He is still there.. and to realize there is no reason you have to bear your burdens alone." You, Shadow have said it better in so few words, much better than I have said it. His promises are ever true.. "Lo I am with you, even to the end of the world."

The Lord IS there... ..let Him take over and don't take that burden back on to yourself. His faithful who promised.

Thanks for the reminder of where Jesus is when we go through difficult times in our life. All christians will have to go through many trials and tribulations, temptations, big or small, so that we will be refined for His use ,and also these experiences change us to be like Jesus, into His character.

This reminder is what I need as I am going through many years of difficult times of business failures, friends' misunderstanding, misunderstandings amongt the family, and even sickness. I am reminded that Jesus is silently helping beside me.

May the Lord re-assures and guides me more clearly in such times of confusion and frustration. I need Jesus more and more!

May Jesus also with you always and through any difficult times,

Silverpen,
May I share another well-loved hymn with you:

I've seen the lightning flashing, I've heard the thunder roll.
I've felt sin's breakers dashing, which almost conquered my soul.
I've heard the voice of my Savior, bidding me still to fight on.
He promised never to leave me, never to leave me alone!

Refrain

No, never alone, no never alone,
He promised never to leave me,
He'll claim me for His own;
No, never alone, no never alone.
He promised never to leave me,
Never to leave me alone.

The world's fierce winds are blowing, temptation sharp and keen.
I have a peace in knowing my Savior stands between€”
He stands to shield me from danger when my friends are all gone.
He promised never to leave me, never to leave me alone!

Refrain

When in affliction's valley I tread the road of care,
My Savior helps me carry the cross so heavy to bear;
Though all around me is darkness, earthly joys all flown;
My Savior whispers His promise, never to leave me alone!

Refrain

He died on Calvary's mountain, for me they pierc'¨d His side.
For me He opened that fountain, the crimson, cleansing tide.
For me He waiteth in glory, seated upon His throne.
He promised never to leave me, never to leave me alone!

Refrain

Words: Ludie D. Pickett

May you know that the Saviour shields you from dangers when your friends are gone.
He will never leave you alone. Amen.

Hi, ptl dear friend, with tears in my eyes...I so appreciate your talent of putting to music the antidotes to our pains and hurts. Thanks for once again healing so many. His blessings and mine, Possum

Dear Possum,
Dwight L Moody shared : One drop of God's strength is worth more than all the world.
May you receive that drop of God's strength everyday to do what He has purposed for you.

Love in Christ sent on wings of prayer
