Back In

It's been some time since I updated. Spiritually I've fallen behind, I had to sacrifice my time for reading at night for a few nights recently to study for tests and write papers until 3 AM. I'm hoping to get on track now that all the stress from this week is over. I got slowed down in classes because I planned to do all these projects last weekend, but then I found out Thursday that one of my best friends was coming down for the weekend, so I went out both nights and helped break up fights and drive shmammered folks home.

I'm starting to recover from a sore throat and runny nose that made the 3AM paper writing even worse. I discovered in the process of my sickness that Wallgreens is open 24 hours and Target isn't. That's backwards to me.

So the campus ministry retreat is going to be Friday and Saturday. I'm pumped to go. However the ride up by myself is going to create a vacuum (creative way of saying suck). Everyone else is leaving at 4, but I don't get out of class until 5. Anyway it's still going to be a great time to spend with fellow KU Christians and with God.

It's late, but I'll still deliver the spotlight. Let's check out Falling Up. They hail from Oregon. They have an ambient sound mixed with hard rock. They're sort of a lighter more pop-sounding Linkin Park (if that makes sense). I've seen them in concert, and they know how to rock the stage well. Their album Crashings attracted their first mainstream attention, and they became exponentially more well-known with 2005's Dawn Escapes. They recently released Exit Lights, which is mainly a CD of remixes.

Forgive me for only one website. I'm sure there's a link to their main site on the myspace.

You're all in bed, and I should be too.
L-Mo out.

And yes I have been cracking jokes about T.O. turning emo all day.

Rawkin,

Be careful who/what you surround yourself with. But at the same time be strong in the Lord. Stick by your friends and show them the rewards and joy that come with a life full of Christ.

Have a great time at the retreat!

Grace to you,

Falling UP

Christian rock band signed to BEC Recordings. They were named after the first song they wrote, which refers to how imperfect people are, but how sufficient the grace of God is to compensate for that imperfection. In harmony with their name, their music is heavy on themes about grace.

Their music, which they call "pash rock", combines rock, metal, strings, and R&B. The members of Falling Up and those of Kutless were childhood friends in their hometown of Albany, Oregon. It was the members of Kutless who passed Falling Up's demo album on to BEC Recordings owner, Brandon Ebel, which led to Falling Up signing on to BEC alongside Kutless in the summer of 2003.
