A main purpose of this series is to offer a number of points intended to open your mind to "think soberly" what it is that you actually believe about healing and to consider how and if it lines up with God's Word. The renewing of the mind of everyone who is a believer is essential. Going from an earthly / carnal way of thinking to a supernatural / spiritual way of thinking thus deepening understanding is of great importance.
Many have a negative attitude concerning those who may be referred to as "faith healers." My belief is that there is lack of understanding among some so called "faith healers" that has proven to be harmful and an actual hinderance to many in their desire to see a manifestation of healing take place.
To Consider
I do not believe the problem involves the quantity - the amount of "faith" a person has. My belief is the problem involved is more along the line of what a person actually believes and, also, a person's heart attitude, is it positive or is it/has it become negative concerning divine healing.
The Measure of Faith
Romans 12:2-3 (KJV) 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. 3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. Romans 12:2-3 NIV 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is —his good, pleasing and perfect will. 3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.
To Consider:
God does not show favoritism (see scripture below). Accordingly, God gives to each person "the measure of faith," the same measure (amount) of faith. He does not give one person this amount of faith and another a different amount (measure) of faith. It is what we do with the faith God has given each of us that is significant. Faith can be strengthened or it can be weakened according to what we choose to believe.
Romans 10:17 (KJV) So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (NIV) Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
God is not a respecter of persons. God does not show favoritism.
Acts 10:34 (KJV)34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: (NIV) Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism Romans 2:11 (KJV) 11 For there is no respect of persons with God. (NIV) For God does not show favoritism James 2:9 (KJV) 9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. (NIV) But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers.
In 2002, the Holy Spirit spoke these two Words of Wisdom at different times that I consider as cornerposts to my spiritual way of thinking.
