Introduction to Series
This past Sunday, August 26, 2012, the children in Kids Church were introduced to Day 6 of God's Week of Creation. Emphasis was placed on the creation of land animals with each creature created being created "according to its kind," as recorded in Genesis 1:24-25 (NKJV) and on Adam being given the privilege of naming birds and creatures of the field, Genesis 2:19-20.

Genesis 1:24 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

Genesis 2:19 Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field.

Take notice how many times God repeats the phrase "according to its kind." God is telling us something important (Genesis 1 and also in Genesis 7), in the verses about His creation of sea life, birds and land animals. God created each "kind" of creature.

There is no such thing as macro-evolution which boils down to the idea of there being a natural process of "vertical" evolution. God has allowed for variation among each "kind", but there is no such thing as vertical evolution involved. Cat Kind: Cats are cats and can only be cats. Dog Kind: Dogs are dogs and can only become a horizontal variation and must remain within the dog kind. Basically, each "kind" can only mate within its "kind." Horizontal variation does occur, but, no vertical evolution.

There was no big bang. Then, over billions of years, out of a soup of chemicals, the first living cell finally formed that somehow became all of the various life forms we see today.

We watched an excellent DVD titled Incredible Creatures That Defy Evolution II offered through the Creation Museum established by Answers In Genesis. On this DVD are some awesome examples of creatures that could not exist nor do what they do through a process of vertical evolution. Each creature had to be complete right away in order for it to become life. None could have possibly survived an evolutionary process of changing and becoming a whole "new" creature. A bird cannot become a fish. An ape cannot become a man. Impossible.

Educational, eye-opening and a focus on God as our Creator. I hope this series will spring forth the desire to truly Honor God. I hope this series will focus you and your family's attention on our need to give God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) the full honor and glory He alone deserves for His Creation.
