The Book of Genesis ( God's Unconditional Love)

THE BOOK OF GENESIS (chapter 1-3)
Observations:
1. God s creation everything that God created is good (Gen 1:1-28)
2. God s desire to commune or have a close relationship with His creation (Gen 3:8)
3. The fall of man disobedience on God s command (Gen 3:6)
4. The unconditional love of God the Lord hates sin not the sinner (Gen 3:21)

Discussion:
1. Before the fall of man everything is in perfect harmony with the Lord. No diseases that infects humans and animals, no parasites to destroy the crops and fruits, Adam and Eve were sinless, no need to toil since everything is well provided for, and most of all Adam and Eve had a close relationship with the Lord (face to face).

2. As you read the first chapter of this book you ll observe that the Lord was pleased with everything that He created and He saw everything as good . As you visualize creation you may consider that God enjoyed in this whole process of creation. In the next chapter it s stated that the Lord was walking in the cool of the day in the Garden of Eden, with this we can say that He did not go through this whole process of creation just for nothing. He has a far greater purpose and plan, and it is very good to note that the Lord enjoys being with His creation. He does not care going down from His throne to mingle with Adam and eve.

3. To continue - But sad to say that man fell into the temptation of Satan. Many would ask, If God knew that man would fall into sin, then why did he create man? I should say and am thankful because God created human and not robots. If God created robots, no feelings, no emotions, no freedom of choice, we would be like remote controlled machines. But as I said God created humans, with emotions and free will. God wanted us all to obey and believe Him but He does not force us to believe Him it s our choice. With the creation in front of us or as you see yourself in the mirror and breathe daily we don t have any excuse that we don t know God. In the end we cannot say that no one told me about who God is because His creation speaks for Himself.

4. Now with the sinfulness of man one cannot say that God has failed in His creation project, that God made a mistake somewhere. We should bear in mind that our God is an all knowing God, He is sovereign. From the time He created man in His image He knew what s going to happen but He s confident in all He s doing because He already knew the end before it happened, He has confidence in Himself. As you read the last part of chapter 3 you ll observe that God loves Adam and Eve, even though they ve sinned still He s willing to sacrifice the life of one of His creations in order to make a skin covering for the two sinners. Knowing that God loves us unconditionally should not make us more eager to sin. God is a loving God and He is also a just God, in everything that we do there s a corresponding consequence whether good or bad (you reap what you sow). God hates sin not the sinners. God cannot stand sin that s why Adam and Eve were drove out of the Garden. They were banished from all the good things and as well as from the presence of the Lord but He did not stop loving them.

I never wanted to be away from the presence of the Lord but I m not perfect from time to time I sin. Good thing is God always loves his children, as an earthly father forgives his children when they repent and ask for forgiveness, then so is God. God knows our hearts and He knows if we sincerely repent or not. God always helps and shows us the right way, it is up to us if we follow his leading or not. In the end God will remain God, our presence and actions do not make Him less as God. His promise of an eternal life with Him will come just as He promised.

Discussion Questions:
1. How is your walk with God this past week?
2. Have you displeased the Lord through your actions, thoughts, words and emotions lately?
(If yes, what are they? Have you confessed to the Lord and ask for forgiveness?)
3. What are your action plans with regard to habitual sins?
4. Have you been faithful with your quiet time, Bible reading, prayer, and fellowship?

The unconditional love of God:
Genesis 3:21
The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.

God bless us all!
