Time of the Gentiles Part 2
Abomination that causes desolation in the Middle, 1290 Days until abomination, Daniels 70 weeks
There are two places in Daniel that speak about the abomination that causes desolation: Dan 9:27 and Dan 12:11. 9:27 says,"He will confirm a covenant with many for one seven.' In the middle of the seven' he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on wing of the temple he will setup an abomination that causes desolation until the end that is decreed is poured out on him." Now 12:11 says," From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is setup, there will be 1290 days." "He" in this verse refers to Satan or maybe the one we call the Antichrist or maybe even the false prophet.
Let's look at 9:27 first. Above I concluded that the total time frame was 2500 years. So how could the whole time frame be a week now or one seven.' If you read the verses above this one, you'll see that each week has a multiplier. The first set of weeks has multiplier of 7. The second one is 62. If add both of them up you get 69 weeks. How many days in week? Seven! 7 X 69 = 483. That means the Messiah will be cut off in 483 years. This time frame starts after Nehemiah rebuilds the walls of Jerusalem (~440 BC). 483-440 equals 33 AD. That's when Christ was cut off. This part is actually done correctly in the current s, but the last week is where the problem lies.
Daniel 9:27 is where the tribulation time came from. I just don't see it. I'd think last week is completely different from what the current view is. The next idea I get out of Lev 25: 8-10. From the Levitical code, you have a 50 year cycle of years. The 50 years is not the important part, but the code is. First you have seven years; secondly you have seven weeks of years and then you have one year of Jubilee. Now in Daniel, you have seven weeks of years, 62 more weeks of years and one unique multiple weeks. Note the comparisons between the two styles. Look again is list form:
Code:
1st: a seven
2nd: a multiple of sevens
3rd: a unique year of Jubilee
Daniel:
1st: seven sevens
2nd: 62 sevens
3rd: a plural of seven
The question is this, is this a unique year just like the year of Jubilee? I think it is! Therefore, Daniels last week is not just one week, but a year of weeks just like the year of Jubilee. So it would not be 7 years, but 7 times a year. The whole time of the gentiles!
For the last seven, this is completely different. Now to the other "one seven,'" what is its multiplier? 7 years is way too short. What I do know is that there is multiplier in front of the last seven' and must equal 2500 because it is referring to the whole time frame or there about or 2500 / 7 = 357.14. That's about one year of sevens.' So now it known that the "one" is one year of sevens.' That would be 2520 (360 * 7) years. What we want to know is what happens in the middle of that time frame. (2500/2 = 1250) Well, -552 + 1250 is 698 AD. What was happening in 698? The building of "The Dome of the Rock" is what was going on.
Reading 9:27 you should realize that this verse has two parts; one time up to the desolation and the other from the desolation to reformation of Israel. So, if you add 1250 plus 698 you get 1948. There you have it!
Looking at 12:11, the 1290 days is really referring to earlier date when sacrifice was stopped, subtracting 1290 from 698 results in 592 BC. That's just a few years off and that's close enough for me.
Thinking about these two different methods, all of Daniel is complete! Using Jesus' wording, the time of the gentiles is over with, which is something we should already know from current history of Israel.
