Several Words from the Lord
The past week I've received several words from the Lord I'd like to share. Last Friday night during our weekly meeting the Lord spoke to me that during the time when the original Disciples were chosen, he searched the earth just like he did when he found David and the first person who caught his eye was Peter. We know that the three fishermen Peter, James and John formed the inner circle during the three years of Jesus' ministry on the earth. Holy Spirit revealed to me the reason Peter caught his eye, was his fearlessness. This was demonstrated several times even before being filled with the Spirit. The most famous of which was "stepping out of the boat" into the dark raging waters on the word of the Lord. Once again Holy Spirit is searching the earth for those who are fearless, those who regard the kingdom of God above their own lives and will walk fearlessly into even the darkest of places. During this season the Lord is going to deliver many from fear and that will require obedience and willingness to confront fears that have held us captive. Holy Spirit also spoke to me that there are going to be greater and greater confrontations with darkness that will require much courage. Several years ago in my own life the Lord prompted me to begin walking the 5 acres of woods around our home at night praying. Usually I'd wake up around 3am and walk through the woods and pray for around an hour. These prayer walks lasted for several months and were conducted without any from of light, in complete darkness, unless the moon was out. I'd never been overly afraid of the dark but I knew that "fear of darkness" was root the Lord was after. Fear of darkness is one of the most basic roots of fear and comes upon many during childhood. It is generally accepted and thought to be normal except in extreme cases. It's not normal for Christians and God's dealing with it. I can tell you one thing there are a lot of noises in the woods at night and at times I was quite scared. As soon as I got completely comfortable in the dark, the assignment ended. I believe this fear is a major part of satan's strategy to keep the body of Christ paralyzed by the demonic. He can easily transfer fear of darkness in the natural into fear of darkness in the spiritual realm. As the darkness covering the earth increases, so will the warriors that God is rising up to confront it. The second word I received several days ago is that the body of Christ as a whole still has a peacetime mentality. The U.S. exhibited this attitude during the late 1930's and early 40's even though it was apparent that World War II was well under way and was inevitable for us as well, yet we as a nation did not embrace war until Pearl Harbor. The earth has reached the "battle zone" time period that will not end until the return of the Lord, yet the body of Christ still has a peacetime mentality. The Lord directly confronted me with this. He told me that even in the midst of tremendous attack, my focus was on making the attack stop, not on embracing the fact that we are in a war. A peacetime mentality wants the attack to stop and will focus on that. A wartime mentality is not concerned about individual battles and is committed and has even embraced war until resolution takes place. A wartime mentality does not try or even considers getting out of the war. A wartime mentality doesn't waste time wishing things were different. A wartime mentality easily suffers discomfort and hardship for the long term victory. Any entity whether personal or corporate that is embracing a peacetime mentality is only putting forth enough effort to get through that specific battle and believes peace will come with victory over individual battles. When the U.S. embraced a wartime mentality in World War II, it became a devastating war machine. When any entity, whether individual or corporate embraces a wartime mentality it will become a devastating war machine as well. This war for the souls of man and the end of this age is underway and cannot be avoided or stopped. I personally and we corporately have to change our mentality to be victorious.
