Encouragement - worship and serve

From recent discussions and readings I have been rereading and thinking about these verses in Luke:

And he led him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to him, "I will give you all this domain and their glory, because it has been handed over to me, and I can give it to whomever I want. So if you will worship before me, all this will be yours." (Luk 4:5-8 LEB)

Small intro
This is the third time in my life I have been stopped or slowed to a snail’s pace with nothing but time; time to read, pray, think, and listen. This time I have problems and an illness that keeps me much in the moment, dull and unmotivated to read or do much of anything.
So why do I start this blog with the above verse? Because I worry that some have mislaid this verse and the following verse.

And Jesus answered him, "It is written, "'You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.'" (Luk 4:8 ESV)

It is written – Deut. 6:13 “It is the LORD your God you shall fear. Him you shall serve and by his name you shall swear.”
And 1 Samuel 7:3
"If you are returning to the LORD with all your heart, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you and direct your heart to the LORD and serve him only, and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines."

Domain and glory
Jesus never disputed the devils claim (Jn 14:30) of being the ruler of this domain “in which you once walked” Eph. 2:2.
As followers of Christ what is our mission – to carry on the testimony of Jesus and keep the words of the Book (Rev. 9:10, 22:9) – to continue the work of the Apostles.

Worship and Serving
Worship God. Serve God.
It is up to you to know your heart, to put away the little gods, to direct your heart and serve Him only. No one else can do this for you.
You are sealed by the Holy Spirit rely on his strength, his power to serve. As brothers and sisters we support, encourage, and correct one another to continue and grow in our walk: seek a community to worship and serve within.

Short and sweet
Being a bit lethargic this is about it for a blog right now.
It is good being back at Christianblog – Hello, again, by serveonlyhim.

Since you have been away i have joined this Blog - so on behalf of the new bloggers - welcome back. God had laid these words on my heat to pass onto you.

Praise the LORD, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. 2 For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD.
