ChristianBlog.Com Development Freeze

ChristianBlog.Com Development Freeze, December 16, 2006

It has been decided that ChristianBlog.Com will enter a Development Freeze on December 16th, 2006.

This Development Freeze will remain in place until Q2 of 2007.

The software engineer for ChristianBlog.Com has other duties to attend to at another new website, and will be spending most of his next 3 months there.

He will still be fixing bugs that have not yet been found, and attending to small development issues here at ChristianBlog.Com, but no new major features will be put into place until (or perhaps after) the start of Q2, 2007.

As always, we invite everybody to offer their suggestions for new features -- and in fact, those features most requested will be what we will put into place once development of ChristianBlog.Com resumes.

The only exception to this Development Freeze will be our API & Syndication features, which will continue on an irregular basis until they are finished.

We may also put into place exceptionally awesome suggestions -- that would be Premier Membership only features -- if somebody can come up with an idea awesome enough to get our Software Engineer away from his other project.

Our Support Teams will continue to be here, we will continue to operate 'as normal'... we just are not going to have a full-time software developer for ChristianBlog.Com like we've had for the last 12 months.

Blessings to all and may ChristianBlog.Com continue to be both a place of ministry and ministering, for you!

Hello everybody,

This is just my official announcement that the Software Engineer and Developer of ChristianBlog.Com (that would be me) is now moving onto other ministries that the Lord has for me, on a full-time basis.

This is by no-means meant to discourage you, to indicate that the website will not continue to grow with new features (because I will be adding new features on a semi-regular basis), or to indicate that there will be nobody around to fix bugs and errors. Nor does it mean that we will no longer have people who are dedicated to reviewing content.

What this does mean is that I personally feel the software is "stable" and has very few problems, and my time can best be spent working on other projects that the Lord has sitting in my "To Do For The Lord List".

As you may, or may not know, I personally maintain over 100 domains, 3 major applications, and have a cliental list of over 2.5 million people. On a monthly basis I minister to thousands of pastors, tens of thousands of churches, and hundreds of thousands of Christians around the world. The Lord has truly blessed me in the area of being able to minister to HIS Children!

I started working on ChristianBlog.Com on a full-time basis exactly 369 days ago. The past year has seen a massive amount of my time spent in front of computers, time spent with lawyers, time spent doing research, banging my head against my keyboard, falling asleep at my desk, having to file Fraud Charges against people in both the USA and the UK, and getting to develop a piece of software that nobody has ever created before!

There is zero question or doubt that ChristianBlog.Com is as unique of a website as they get! Nowhere else on the internet will you find a website centered around Christian Bloggers, which has the massive amount of features that we do, the level of protection and secure that we have in place, and most importantly, the massive amount of Christians that use ChristianBlog.Com on a regular basis to be both ministered too, and minister to others!

As stated above, starting around Q2 of 2007, I will again come back to ChristianBlog.Com and devote a significant amount of hours of work into putting into place new features. (see http://www.christianblog.com/blog/support/feature-requests/#comment_38 38 for a complete list of what I am blueprinting). Between now and Q2-2007 I will be working on a new version of my employment software, a new version of my technical support software, maybe do some freelance work for a few friends, and perhaps take a vacation. (I was so busy this past year I only took one very short vacation.)

Of important note: over the next few weeks and into the months ahead, we will be recruiting folks who would be willing to join some of our Teams here at ChristianBlog.com ChristianBlog.Com will be seeking people to join our "Content Review Team", our "Moderator Team", our "Documentation Team", and perhaps a few other teams we have a need to create. I would seek your prayers that some of our members would open their hearts and time to devote to ChristianBlog.Com to help it continue to be safe, to help others, and to keep the website growing!

The simple truth is... I have given one entire year of my life to ChristianBlog.Com, and it is time for me to walk away and let others start stepping-up and investing into the future of ChristianBlog.Com -- If that does not happen, the website will simply fail to continue growing, being a place of ministry, and all of those things that none of us desire. BUT, if that does happen, ChristianBlog.Com can continue to touch the lives of people from around the world in ways not any of us can envision!! -- I have done my part, now it is the time for the Lord to have others do their part, as He moves me onto new ministries to minister to His people. The success of ChristianBlog.Com will 100% depend upon those who are members, become members, and who desire to invest their lives into this website. That is the simple truth and facts.

I will leave you all now with the blessings from my office, my life, and my continued hope and desire to see the multitudes ministered to (and minister) here at ChristianBlog.Com! It has been quite the year, one I'm sure I will not forget for sometime! Thank you to everybody who helped make it happen -- you know who you are!
