Tch,
I also simply believe the word of God. I may not fully understand it always but I accept it to the limit of my understanding with confidence that God will reveal the fullness to me in His timing. In the meantime, I believe it by faith and place my confidence in the wisdom of God. His word is not complicated or difficult to understand unless we approach it in human wisdom. Jesus said His words were spirit and truth. They can only be spiritually discerned. "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." I Corinthians 2:14. When we approach the word of God from a humanistic point of view we mess up the works and when anyone takes the truth of God's word and manipulate it by adding or subtracting from it, they transform it into a lie. You said one can "begin twisting things around so they fit into a doctrine". I agree we have to close our ears to what the Holy Spirit is really saying to do that. Twisting of the truth will always lead us away from the Holy Spirit and instead turn us directly to the source of untruth, to the liar and the father of lies. Twisting of truth is exactly what the devil did in the garden and with Christ in the desert temptation. He is doing the same thing in these last days so he can deceive as many as possible. We must all be very careful not to fall into this trap. There is a lot of pressure to conform to the prevailing "politically correct" opinions and many Christians are being seduced by his lies. However, no Christian wants to accept the fact that he is the source of these popular doctrinal errors.
This blog speaks the truth. God's plan for Israel will be completed just as He intended. No manner of twisting to satisfy any religious doctrinal opinions can change the truth of God's immutable word. His perfect will is clear in the word to any who have an ear to hear. His eternal plan for Israel can not be stopped by any subtly twisted lie and we will all see His prophesies fulfilled. Thank you for taking a bold stance for truth. To God be the glory.

Kogfamily . . . thank you for your inspired contribution. You stated:
A huge Amen to that! God's revelation of truth is a progressive revelation. We begin with milk then as we grow and mature He reveals more and more to us. Many times from the very same Scripture we have focused on many times in the past.
God bless you and I pray God continues revealing His mysteries to you.

Tch,
God in His wonderful grace and mercy is leading me by His Holy Spirit through some of the most trying times of my life right now. It's a time that's requiring my total focus on and trust in the faithfulness of God's word. I talked about hearing the voice of God in a couple of blogs but He's teaching me that when I can't hear him in a time of trial, I must trust the reliability of what He has already spoken in His word. This lesson must be learned to be spiritually mature. It's fiery in intense yet sweetly invigorating! Sometimes I am on the very edge of tears but by the mercy of God break out instead in a praise to Him. In these times I am learning how to preach myself happy and as David did at Ziklag, encourage myself in the Lord!
God bless you Tch for being such a tower of uncompromising truth at CB. God uses you in ways you may not know. I have no doubt that many blessed by your powerful messages remain in the shadows without posting a response. Even so, be encouraged by this scripture In Isaiah 55:10,11
"10For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."
In Him,

You know I can't say I disagree with you or your study habits. Good stuff with a good foundation and thinking.
There are areas in study I turn to a variety of experts because sometimes I want to know the history, geography, customs. For instance Jesus moves around a lot and He said certain things in specific places, why. God does the same thing in the O.T., why a certain Mountain, why specific places time and again. We don't always know and some are best guess with logic from much study but I enjoy it.
When it comes to what is written I copy your study habits, Holy Spirit, the Word, and me.
With this I do enjoy understanding the language and the people chosen by the Holy Spirit to speak through. I have several translation tools and enjoy the text critical arguments. I don't have much time anymore to keep up with these studies.
In the end it boils down to what God says. It isn't always necessary I understand what I read in scripture but it is important I am careful not to add or take away from it, not to filter it through my own limited understanding, it is okay to have questions and ask questions - to seek understanding.
We must always remember, however we study, it is real and it is life.
Good post.

HR:
Amen brother.
We are given this warning in the Revelation. Many believe it applies only to the Revelation. From my perspective, the principle it communicates applies to the entire Holy Text, from the first word in Genisis to the last word in the Revelation.
Blessings,

I do very much agree that we do not add, or take away, from what the text 'actually' says. And I will stop there. Brother, I love you in Jesus Christ, we are His. Grace, mercy, and peace to you, in Christ. God Bless. |
