The Devil is Laughing Today

Have you ever heard the saying: “With friends like that who needs enemies?” I’m sure all of us at some point in life have had this kind of friend. Of myself, I would like to say, “who needs them?” However, I know my Savior would not be pleased with that kind of attitude.

I love this blog site. Nearly every day I come here with high expectations of the blessings I’m going to receive through other’s testimony, discussions, and words of life. However, even on this site, there are those who fall into the category of, “who needs friends like that.”

Have you ever eaten a salad filled with cucumbers? Cucumbers are not only delicious they are good and provide nourishment for the body. However, in a bowl filled with delicious cucumbers you only need come across one “sour” one and the entire salad loses its flavor.

A prerequisite for joining this site is to be a confessing Christian. From deep within me I believe most of those who come here, and especially most of the long term ones, are truly Christians who love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength.

However, even within the body of true believers are a few sour cucumbers and that which is in their heart, over time, will poke its ugly head out for all to see.

When this happens damage comes to members of the house of God and the devil is enjoying a huge laugh . We can sometimes be our own worse enemy. Hurtful words coming from a brother or sister is much more damaging than those proceeding from someone you expect them to come from.

CB is not insulated from attacks of the devil. Even more so, CB is not insulated from attacks of the devil coming through God’s people.

Easily seen is when those who are of the devil comes through and share their words very few or any respond to or even open their writings. Not so with one who is a recognized member of the body of Christ. So when one of these saved ones speak ugly words all of us are adversely effected because we value them as a brother or sister and we read what they have to say.

You are probably asking yourself by now, “where is this coming from?” Yesterday I read a message revealing the power of God present in the Church today for healing. Discerning the anointing and power of God in the words spoken in this message I arrived on site today eager to open the message and read what I expected to be many edifying and encouraging comments. Sadly I found the message no longer existed for public view.

No doubt that ugliness existing within some of us has poked his ugly head out again . This results in a loss for the sake of Christ and a win for the devil. I hope ole man, who ever you are, you are pleased with your accomplishment for someday soon there will be a time of accountability for every word we have spoken.

This is only another example of how deep the truth in the Word of God is. Our own eyes are witnessing the fulfillment of Paul’s prophecy to Timothy of people coming who have a form of Godliness but deny the power thereof.

This one thing all of us should consider. Do we believe and trust in an all powerful, all knowing, ever present, everlasting God who never changes or is it just a philosophy we are clinging to?

The devil does not need sinners to do his bidding. He has plenty Christians who are all to eager to bring harm to the Word, cripple the mature, and kick out the babes.

Heaven forbid . . . May God forgive us of our ignorance, pride, and selfish hearts.

Blessings to all,
Tch

Thanks Tch for your wise exhortation. I did not see the post or the comments.

Although I do not know what happened, your statement above is strong and true. One way the enemy works in doing this is by deceiving some into thinking they are God's correction and protection squad for others. I believe this deception comes to those who fail to trust in the power of the Holy Spirit to lead, guide, and teach His own. If only we FIRST followed the Holy Spirit and His Word and not man, much of this would be avoided. I just recently experienced this and it grieves me to see how many were deprived of God's intended blessing because of the voice of others.

Blessings,
Barb

I just lost a comment I was working on here, on this blog, it said the site was not responding, so I had to eventually leave the site and log-in again. It may be some issues all right, in the technical part of cyberspace.

If they violated a site rule, that would cause it to get taken off. Didn't see it, so I would not know about that. Healing, perfection, osas, eschatology, eternal hell, all are things that are debated pretty heavy here, at times. Well, creation too. I wouldn't think that a blog about healing, in-and-of itself, would be deleted.

A church I filled in once, in the 1980's, for a pastor who was ill, told me that I could not preach there anymore, because I had asked one of the women to pray before the sermon one morning. They did not allow that, but I still believe they were wrong to be that strict. Did not harm me, I don't believe.

Yes, we will all answer to an all powerful God, for any harm done to His little ones, or what we build upon the gospel of Christ. It is HIS body, HIS church. Appreciate the warning brother. God Bless.

Good evening brother Billy . . . I pray this evening finds you basking in the love and joy of our Savior.

I'm assuming the author chose to suspend the blog. There was noting in the original blog which could even come close to violating any site rule.

Fill me in on what "osas" is. It is not registering for me.

Thank you for reading and responding. You are always appreciated.

Blessings,
Tch

No doubt that ugliness existing within some of us has poked his ugly head out again .
. I read this sentence and I have to sadly admit that within all of us it pokes its ugly head out periodically. I probably more than most.

I suppose what we ought to do is pray before we speak, then pray again and then leave it with God and keep our fingers and lips shut. Something I for one need to work on.

Sister Bethy . . . Thanks for reading and commenting. I'm agreeing with you in that none of us have been perfected (yet). We are all subject to miss the mark at times. It is the habitual which needs much prayer, attention, and concern.

Have a wonderful evening Sister.

Blessings,
Tch

Amen Sister Tina . . . the tongue is hard to tame. On sites like this I guess that is translated to "the keyboard."

Yes, it should be a burning desire in our heart to become more like our Savior with each passing moment.

Blessings,
Tch

So true -- so true. Can't disagree with all I read above and I pray for the situation. Hopefully the blogger's feelings weren't hurt. Some people just don't understand how deeply we can feel about the things we write. Great blog and I love your username. Years ago when I had just learned of my teaching gifting, I had an encounter with Jesus where He told me to always, "be teachable!" I guess He wanted me to stay humble. God bless.

Thank you sister and welcome to CB. I pray you are as blessed here as I have been over the years. We are a Christian family deriving from groups of believers from most parts of the world. Many have been instrumental in bringing light and revelation in His Word to me through their writings and comments. I pray you are blessed even more than I have been during your time here.

Blessings,
Tch

  Soften my heart, Lord

Soften my heart

From all indifference

Set me apart

To feel Your compassion

To weep with Your tears

Come soften my heart,

O Lord Soften my heart

God softens the heart of anyone who seeks after Him as for great treasure; His Word tells that if anyone seeks Him with their whole heart, He will make Himself to be found by them. Every one of us who believe have the opportunity to bring His healing Spirit into our churches, where He is needed sometimes most of all. I did not see the blog you originally referenced, but we know that nothing we do for God is in vain, that even a glass of water offered in His name is rewarded. God uses the smallest of us to do the greatest good, often in ways we can't see. Your writing kept the discussion going, and spurred more discussion; perhaps some more hearts were softened for the work of the Holy Spirit by the work of your hands. I pray blessing and joy upon you, and encouragement for your continued writing.

Yours in Christ,

pastorlarry

Yes Tch, let it be. We all need to nail these things to the cross daily. We should all be slow to speak and slow to get angry or offended with one another. Words can hurt. Amen! God bless you. I enjoyed your blog!
