Given over to appetite...!

I have this problem. I'm given over to appetite and borderline indulging in food a little to much. I haven't been able to focus on a real time occupation that will divert my attention from the stove or refrigerator. I respect the stove and refrigerator more than I do the television. The stove talks about needeful and sensible matters of concern. Some clear focused ideas come out of the stove. The stove is sober about wisdom and not like folly of what I see in television. The refrigerator reminds me of what I should be concerned about.

If I start trusting in uncertain things I ask the refrigerator or pantry to help me see things clearly. The bible says that a little sleep, a little slumber and folding of hands and poverty can com upon me like an armed robbery! We shouldn't take the Lord to the test when it comes to our basic necesities. We should plan soberly what the scenario is for the distant and immediate future. And the sober thing is that our walk with the Lord has all to do with how to plan for our needs.

An idle plow can bring mildew and famine to a house. We should be busy about praying what pleases the Lord and or what he expects from you. Remember the shrivele fig tree with has no fruit when the Lord came looking for figs! And help the plant! It was not the season. But I have a fig plant in my back yard which gives the early figs, regular figs and the october-september late figs way into frost season. We should give fruit in season and out of season. But learn the lesson from the stove.

When nothing is cooking there is a real problem and we should pray to avoid our next meal at the shelter of soup kitchen. I may seem to take things to extremes. But I should examine myself to see if I really upto the Lords business. Is our collection of bible study helps collecting layers of sediment dust? Is our prayer time at the TV control wand? I hope you know where we are going with this. Tell your stove, "Dear stove, I'm going to take care of you..." Perhaps this is madness.

But with rising gasoline prices things are unstable again. And we need to pray and don't wait until sunday service to open the bible and see what God has to say to you. And remember what the Lord inspired Jeremiah to proclaim in the Temple, "Do trust in these words, 'this is the temple of the Lord...this is the temple of the Lord... and this is the temple of the Lord...! Wisdom gives its fruit only if we obey and listen to God. Do not decieve yourselves because it is the doers of God Word and not those who have excellent hearing ability. May you have a good night and morning. Amen.
