Is Israel really going anywhere...?
We turn to Romans 10:1-4 to get on the main road. Romans 10:1-4:
["...1Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
2For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
3For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
4For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth...]
We go back to the ABC's of the gospel. The first thing is that God is not a respecter of persons. Those in Isarael are not particularly more popular with God then than those in Samaria. When we understand how unmerited the grace of God is, we understand that no-one is of particular good taste to God.
Those who reject Christ in any corner of the world will not suffer more or less than his own people when they rejected him in person. The trouble goes back to where God allowed Abraham cast out mecilessly Hagar and her child into the plight of her own luck in the wilderness.
Abraham should have never allowed his wife to do such merciless act. Ishamael althought he was cast out from Abrahams family, became the progenitor of the gentiles. And God set his heart to do good to the deceandants of this Ishmael, you and me.
On those who seemed favored, he, God cast a curse, Isaiah 6:8-10, it says such:
["...8Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
9And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.
10Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed...]
God has closed the heart of these person so that it is impossible for them to believe God and his word. Until when will God cast out these people. It tells such:
["...11Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,
12And the LORD have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.
13But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof...]
Untill they come to see the devastation and see for themselves what place they really have in God heart. After desolation of the world, then they will understand how really common they really are and how really they had nothing to boast all this time thinking they were they elect of God. Untill then will they continue think they are saved by
proxy to Abraham. No, Nep! God does not respect any one cept' those who put their trust in him. They had to put the Messaih on the cross to illustrate how mistaken a man can be. What a mistake. But then they couldn't see or do any otherwise, God put this slumber on them, lest they see with their eyes, hear the gospel, and be healed.
May you be blessed. Amen.
