No eye has seen nor ear heard...
When we wrote our last blog on the rejoicing of the gospel, perhaps some may have misunderstood me or the message. I drove home my new 2009 Ford Escape at a give away price, 0 dollar down, the lowest interest rate in all the region. I ate a sumptious meal at Golden Corral, I only gave the tip which someone else provided. I got out off the dryer my new denim wrangler denim pants which my cousin from Mexico gave to me at a Mall outlet. I went to the store and had a cold bubbly diet Coke to my fancy. Great peace I have with those who hate me. And now listen to my 160 dollar ipod I found and bought at 49, listening to my favorite radio station which plays my favorite songs.
I couldn't pu the gospel in an other possible way. God says that no eye has seen nor ear heard what he has in store for those that love him. No I haven't seen the kingdom, but if what I see and hear is only the rumor of the glory, I'm all for it. And like I've said, When God says the Lord is my helper I shall not want, I really believe it. But the joy and rejoicing is not a sunday school platitude or empty words. God means business when he says in Psalm 41 Blessed is the man who has regard for the poor...Well let's turn to it one more time and see what God says to those who join him, Psalm 41,
["...1Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.
2The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.
3The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.
4I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.
5Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?
6And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.
7All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.
8An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.
9Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.
10But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.
11By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.
12And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.
13Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen...]
Yes there will be time when you will be kicked for preaching Jesus, even those who share bread with you. But God will sustain you in time of trouble and in time of illness. But I'll tell you my cousin from Mexico brought me 5 pounds of the finest ranch asedero cheese you ever tasted. Went to cook-out next day and my brother invited us to a housewarming party with all the royal amenities. I just do not know what else tell you. If God thought of doing this for me the most despicable sinners who happened to utter his name in public, imagine what he'll do for you who may have not done what I have done.
I really am agasp for words and how good the bible is to a man. God is true and inpired king David to write in Psalm 1:1, "Blessed is the man who listens not to the counsel of the ungodly, nor sit in the chair of sinner, or stand with the scornful." I really believe many are missing out on the better things in life. I wouldn't suprice that someone told me that the "properity gospel" is child's play compared to this. I would say Amen to that. May you be blessed. Amen.
