Taking your place in the batters' box and heres' the pitch...!

This is certainly a good blog and good work. I like this statement,

"...It is that we have failed to be honest with ourselves as to our inability to be victorious doing it our way..."

God will never give us the victory over our enemies or our flesh so we can parade it with a sactifmonious aire of superiority over others who still stumble greatly and not less than what we indulge in.

God is transparent. His word is sure and fast. He says, "Love your neighbor as yourself.,,". And if we see ourselfves do wrong things even unspeakable ones, then why is it such a big thing when someone else does something perhaps unspeakable

Do we begin to say, well my sins are not like that 'gay' over there or that wife-beater down here or the felon in the hole. Yes since we begin to think we know Christ we fall very short on what he tells about human nature and that includes us.

Sometime in christian circles we take on the task to reform society and social crimes like drugs, alchoholism, perversion. murder, abortion, stem-cell research, crime against the environment... and so on. And we begin little by little to forget how really arrogant we really are?

Perhaps we say- well would never go to a church who worships idols, Oh! What falleness! 0r we spend hours looking at our bank account while the half of the world's children goes to bed hungry and do not know how to write their names.

But this isn't a commercial for you to give or what ever we think. The problem is that we don't really think and maybe really appreaciate from what place the Lord brought us from. Perhaps we are redeemed. But I tell the flesh is alive and well and more dangerous than before.

Now the flesh carries a bible. Why it's open season on anyone who does not believe the bible. Turn to the parable of the Pharisee and the Publican and look intently as what God says about those who trusted in themselves to be righteous and despised others. There's a sin called arrogance. It begins like a little plant called 'earned holiness'. We think that we can earn 'holy' points and earn a bat to hit someone on the head. This little devotion without sobriety, can turn a 'child of God' into a menace to society.

This is not a call to good evil or evil good or to condone sin in any form or degree, from lite to dark. But it's about like the lyric says, "...He ain't heavy...he's my brother..." And this is not a call to undermine the truth or everything we learned about doing things right. And there are religion who preach lies. We know that and they are out there. But we should take an honest accessment of how we really are and that we not very different than anyonw you ever met.

Perhaps you met someone who does not have your virtues or your philosophy or your wisdom or like we've said your holiness or rightesousness and sin is sin. But we must learn to give breaks once in while. God know people sin and do evil. But we must..must understand that our humanity is there only one and we are all the same in that. Our fragility is same for all of us. We just earnestly need to understand how to forgive. I eanestly believe we have to understand how humanity is really one.

If God has not revealed who lucky I am to be called by his name, I doubt that if I am redeemed in the first place. May you be blessed. Amen.

Thank you 'bethy' for your kind support on this theme. And it does take great courage to unmask, or decloak and present ourselves to Christ as we really are, just plain humans like anybody else. Thank you for you kind amen, comment and kudos. And I was concerned because this are the kind of blogs that make people feel 'good' and I pray I've spoken rightly of this very pertinent issue of this of new pride. Thankx. May you be blessed. Amen.

The fact of the matter is that I'm having a problem moving on from this blog and topic. I was at church Sunday School and the bible study teacher was going on all the activity which can earn you 'holy points'. And its all innocent because we do love the truth and we don't want to compromise with with what is right. But I come coming back to ask myself the question of whether somewhere along the line we've come to subtly assume that by the the great grace of God we've come to be chosen by God because there something about us 'different' or more

palatable to endure than anybody I can think is still a sinner or in his or her sins. And It's all innocent because error does set you back and sets back those who err. But what if we don't understand that grace is privilidge from top to end. What ever we've come to understand about God and his holiness was and is never something we've ever earned even by somekind of diligent dicilpline we've have to enjoy we think we have or just that we work harderer at understanding God than others.

John the Baptist is quoted to say that no-one can recieve anything unless its granted from above. And this include this earned holiness we crave to get our hand unto. Jesus said that nobody can come to God unless the Father who sent him draw him. We just don't undertstand who shackled our humanity is at the control of the devil and his authority. It's kind of pessimistic to think this way, but if we really want to understand the truth, we really need to be sober of our need to pray daily for God to deliver us daily from our ignorance and the snares of the devil who trip us to unsuspectibly do his will.

But if we pray and give God all the praise and the glory for all we know and can do then we never have an accassion to stumble and or walk in darkness. May you be blessed. Amen.
