What Kind of Ministries Do You Have For...
So, I am talking to friend and the conversation turned to homosexuality. And it got me thinking...
The Average church memberships is 77. And the statistics show that 1 out of 10 persons is gay. This would mean that at least 7 persons in a church is gay. I obviously don't believe that this is the case in every church, but, we must not be so stupid as to believe that NO ONE in our church is struggling with a situation like this. Me and my friend came to the conclusion that even if there is someone who is a homosexual in church he/she would not come forward and say it because they fear the judgment of the people.
Now, I have been in church all my life. I studied Theology because I love to work in church, though I am not called to the ministry as a Pastor, and I have never seen a church that has a ministry or a department that works with homosexuals.
With the rate of homosexuality growing everyday it is obvious that the church NEEDS to pay closer attention to this issue.
The question is, how?
Please respond to this and share with us if your church is doing something about it, if it is how you manage it. If not, what ideas do you have to deal with this or what is your opinion in the matter.
