Our Christian lives...

Most of us have this crazy misconception that coming to faith is the end of our journey. That we've reached what Christ meant for us to reach already. Either we think that or simply don't care. I say this because the majority of us as Christians never reach anything that could be referred to as maturity spiritually. Getting saved is just the beginning. If you've become a Christian you are just getting started. God never meant for us to get saved and then just relax. Now that our eyes have been opened to the truth we are to seek that truth. Now that we have access to Him who created life and knows how its to be done, we are to seek Him and cling to Him and learn how to do this thing right. To come to faith and stick to most of our old ways is nothing short of foolish.

This is what a speaker said about our Christian lives. I absolutely agree that if you get saved, it is the START of Journey of Christianity. It is not the end of life. This disbelief is probably why there are a lot of "unlearned brethren". Also, we need more leaders, but we are lookin for leader who has not made a mistake...which is a mistake...b/c everyone makes mistake...sometimes when we said we are saved...we might not be saved "by God's eyes". How freaky and fearful is that?...how could I know I got saved??...all I can answer is that...when you are saved...you'll act just like Jesus b/c Jesus is in your heart...
One major doubt that Christian have is why God wont control us...but rather give us "free will". This should can be answered easily...if God "dictate" this world...and "brain-dumb" ourselves... then do we truly love God??? One might say it is "forced" love. So, by givin us free will, he knows if we truly love Him or not. And we love him not by fear, but with our own free will...
The speaker crossed his point, but he raised more question to me... im still tryin to answer my questions...

I understand your questions perfectly. Just the other day I asked the person who brought me clarity what does it mean to be a "full" Christian. I will tell you what he said: (this has been translated from my home language, so excuse any mistakes) "To be a Christian is not about what you do, but about who you are. You can't be a Christian through deeds, you either are one or you are not. If you are one it manifests in your life as deeds. This is why you pray a 'believe-prayer', to open your heart to what it truly means." I hope that this makes sense to you. It dis, in part, to me. I am new at being a total believer, and it is still unchartered territories, but I am glad that there are questions that we can't answer. It means that we seek to learn more about how to be closer to The Lord.

God bless,
EW

You are an unusualteenchristian! Very insightful message. The whole idea about salvation/being saved/assurance of salvation is incredibly complex and simple at the same time. Like many parts of Christianity it is a paradox. Not surprisingly it's like knowing when you are in love. You can't really expain it, you just know.

Grace to you,
Vince

I totally agree with what you are saying. Just being saved is a start. The reason so many saved people back slide is because they don't go on from there. They see it as fire insuarance that they will not go to hell.

When you totally come to know all God has for you it is amazing. It's not always an easy journay but it is well worth it.

Keep up the good work.
