I am a college student. One day I hope to get a degree in human services to pursue a career in counseling or social work. My life changed the day I realized God was in love with me. This helped me want to spread God's message of love to anyone I can. I am dating the most amazing man in the world, who also has a Christian blog account righteousbygrace. I love talking to people and hearing different points of view on any topic so never be afraid to express your agreement or disagreement with me, because any good human service major knows how to use empathy.
Most people refer to me as the girl who laughs at everything, which is true. I also love this about myself. No matter how bad things are laughter makes anything better. I have had my share of pain, but because of God's help and those closest to me I have come a long way in my life.
It is hard to pick exactly what I want to put in a testimony about my life. There is a lot of different things I could choose from the focus on. I have seen my share of negative, I have had ongoing problems with my relationship with my mother, which could fill an entire book. I have had no relationship with my father since I was 7. I suppose it has taken me many years to be as open about my childhood as I have become today. I have had to learn one important lesson when it comes to family. You do not get to choose which family you are born into so it is not your fault with what family you have.
In life I have realized it does not matter what circumstances we have been through, all we can really do is make the best of them, and move on. Trust me it has taken me years to be able to say this with confidence.
The most important part of my biography is God. God has always been there. God has always been faithful even when I did not deserve his faithfulness, and even when I was not.
I was at one time in my life bound in legalism. I truly believed God was mad at me and if I tried hard enough I could earn his love. The most freeing lesson I have ever learned in life was God loves me unconditionally. To truly learn the lesson GOD IS LOVE helped free me from the low self-esteem I portrayed on myself and assumed others did as well. This does not mean I do not struggle some days with self-esteem issues, but compared to how I used to be I have drastically improved. God is the best counselor there is. I say this as a person who wants to go into counseling one day.
I have learned an interesting lesson because of Max Lucado. You can learn how a person believes God views them by how they treat others.
This is the short version of my biography. I will possibly expound on this one day, but for now here you go.
