Created According To Its Kind - Believe God's Word Not Man's Imaginations
Posted by: revgenlink (Posted: 07/02/2009 8:18pm)
It was in August of 2001 that the Holy Spirit introduced and started to draw specific attention to the subject of God’s Creation. One day, as I was driving south on Hwy 169 nearing Jordan, Minnesota, where a bend in the road allows you to see the beautiful array of green trees, the sky, clouds and lowlands all in one long glance, I was arguing in my mind about God. Does He really exist? I could not deny or reject God’s existence. Looking up toward the heavens, I acknowledged God through His creation. I spoke out loud words similar to these, “I know you exist God, look at all of this, it had to have been created, it could not just happen.” Belief in (macro) evolution endorses the idea that “creation just happened.” The theory of evolution denies God as our Creator. And, the idea that God used evolution as He created the heavens, earth and all life forms denies the literalness and truthfulness of God’s Word. The theory of evolution directly contradicts God’s version of the creation account found in the book of Genesis. “Jesus Himself, speaking of Genesis, warned: ‘But if ye believe not his (Moses’ writings, how...

Is evolution a religion
Posted by: rsbarclay (Posted: 06/26/2009 6:46pm)
Every time a debate about evolution comes up you hear the same old phrase “Evolution is a proven fact” yet the person making this claim will not, because he can not, tell you what evidence has proven it. As Dr. Wolfgang Smith states: "We are told dogmatically that evolution is an established fact; but we are never told who has established it, and by what means. We are told, often enough, that the doctrine is founded upon evidence, and that indeed this evidence 'is henceforward above all verification, as well as being immune from any subsequent contradiction by experience; but we are left entirely in the dark on the crucial question wherein, precisely, this evidence consists." So if evolutionists can not produce this critical evidence what exactly is evolution then? Dr. Michael Ruse, an evolutionist, writes in the Canadian National Post May 13, 2000 edition article entitled “How Evolution Became a Religion” where he comments on his reflection of Dr. Gish’s statement that evolution is another religion: “Heretical though it may be to say this – and many of my scientist friends would be only too happy to chain me to the stake and to light the faggots piled around...

Believe God's Word Not Man's Word: Creation Account Six Literal Days
Posted by: revgenlink (Posted: 06/17/2009 9:59pm)
The only place in the Old Testament that Christians as well as unbelievers seem to have a problem understanding what the word "day" means is in Genesis Chapter 1. The Hebrew word for day (yom) in the singular or plural form is used 2,301 times in the Old Testament. Let's first look at the uses of day outside of Genesis 1. Whenever the word day (yom) is used with a number (over 400 times) it always means an ordinary day, there are no exceptions. Whenever the phrase 'evening or morning' is used without the word day (38 times) it always means an ordinary day-no exceptions. Whenever the words 'evening' and 'morning' are used individually with the word day (in fact, 23 times each), the word day always means an ordinary day. Whenever the word 'night' is used with the word day (52 times), the word day always means an ordinary day. To repeat, whenever the word day is used with a number or with the words evening or morning or with the word night, outside of Genesis 1, the Hebrew word for day always means an ordinary 24 hour day. And, whenever the phrase 'evening and morning' is used, it...

God loves true science and true science loves God
Posted by: blessings2you (Posted: 06/05/2009 6:25am)
I have always love geography. In fact, when I was thinking about finally going to college back in 1994 I was going to major in geography. Well, things didn’t work out for me to take any classes on the subject, so just like meteorology; this subject remains simply a personal one of interest. From as far back as I can remember I have looked at a globe or a map of the World and seen clearly how the continents obviously at one time were all joined together as one colossal mega-continent. Over the centuries many scientists have presented theories on “continental drift” and how they imagine these huge land masses somehow managed to move thousands of miles and be separated by oceans so deep and wide they stagger the mind to think about. Of course with the advent of Darwinism, the current batch of so-called scientists advocate that these continents drifted apart millions of years ago. They scoff at the notion there could be any way these continents split apart suddenly even though Sir Isaac Newton believed such a thing happened. Archeologists have discovered fossil remains in many continents which indicate without question that at one time they were united...

“Isms” of science
Posted by: rsbarclay (Posted: 05/30/2009 6:13pm)
“'Isms' of science" is an articles writen by Dr. Rebecca Keller who is the head of Gravitas Publications they produce science textbooks. Dr. Keller points out the difference between the practice of science and the interpretation of science. She makes the comparison by using the current debate about global warming (GW) stating that collecting scientific data of the amount of carbon emitted into the atmosphere, temperatures of the ocean and atmosphere, etc. She calls this is the practice of science. Determining if the data is causing GW, global cooling, or if carbon emissions effect the climate at all is the interpretation of science. This interpretation of science is actually a philosophy of science and the current philosophy of science is scientific materialism. In explaining scientific materialism Dr. Keller puts it this way: “Scientific materialism is the current philosophy that guides and interprets most of modern science. Most scientists are unaware that they operate from within this interpretative framework and as a result it has become science. But scientific materialism is not science. It is one way to interpret scientific information.” Dr. Keller refers to a book written by Alan Wallace who refers to scientific materialism as “isms” and breaks the...

Tautology and Radiometric dating
Posted by: rsbarclay (Posted: 05/01/2009 11:02am)
When ever the age of the earth is debated with evolutionists they will quote a date that was determined by a method used by the majority of scientists. That method uses index fossils (fossils that evolutionists believed lived at a certain time) found in the strata being dated or certain strata (strata that evolutionists believed existed at a certain time) is used to date an unknown fossil. It is a circular reasoning known as tautology that is all based on the dogma of the evolutionary religion. When evolutionists are confronted with this line of thought they are quick to answer that they rely on radiometric dating to confirm their beliefs now. Yet they will not mention that radiometric dating is not being used as often as they think and it has been proven to be inaccurate. There were two peer reviewed papers written about the dating problems. One is in the Journal Nature by Tom Clarke (October 9, 2003) entitled "Geologists seek to put an end to blind dates" and the other is in the Journal Science by Richard Kerr (October 2003) entitled "A Call for Telling Better Time Over the Eons" both talk about the earth science meeting held...

Erosion of millions of years
Posted by: rsbarclay (Posted: 04/30/2009 2:37pm)
Uniformitarians believe that the layers of the geologic column was formed over millions of years at a gradual and slow rate points to an earth age of 4.5 billion years. However, erosion rate dating show a younger age of the earth as well as pointing to the Genesis flood. According to Larry Pierce in his article "Niagara Falls and the Bible: One of the World's Greatest Natural Attractions has Some Profound Lessons About the Age of Things" Niagara Gorge was used by Charles Lyell in his quest to push the uniformitarian ideology. Lyell calculated that the Niagara Gorge eroded at 1 foot per year and since the gorge was 35,000 feet long that made the gorge 35,000 years old. That sounds reasonable and it was an accepted age for many years. Unfortunately, the figures Lyell used were not accurate and he knew it. Mr. Blackwell, son of an eminent geologist, informed Lyell that residents of the area had observed an erosion rate of a little more than three feet per year; however, Lyell disregarded this data and used his one foot rate. The three feet per year would have reduced the age to a little less than 12,000 years. The...

Covering the tracks...
Posted by: archromat (Posted: 04/20/2009 6:41am)
You're walking in the woods to a familiar spot... And as you arrive to that familiar spot, you look at a nearby tree and see a carving in it which resembles something of a face. The resemblance is uncanny, and could not have been forged out of nature; a hand did this, but whose? Now as you and your camp of people start to look around, you find absolutely no tracks. For surely, if someone came and did this, they would have left evidence behind that they did do this. Or maybe they were so crafty that they decided to cover up their tracks. Some in your camp start to establish the belief that nature did this, and that much shouldn't be thought of it. In fact, some in the camp don't only want to suggest it, they want to accept it as fact. Others are calling out other people for playing magic tricks on people. Some simply see the face, and assume who did it. How did the face get into that tree? It's getting to those in the camp more apparent that the face forged itself, but some children who are still righteous in mind wonder how a...

The hard look we have to take to really understand...
Posted by: tohimbeglory (Posted: 03/10/2009 7:09am)
Something we don't see thing like we should. Sometimes in our conventional way we expect the Lord to act or think the same way. Or perhaps answer our prayers in the way we expect. But God says my ways are not your ways or my thoughts like your thoughts. We get into an idealistic trip where if something is not the old way it is not acceptable. The truth is not conventional in any way. How God is going to take care of your next meal is not conventional at all. In the old testament we have King David and the prophets crying out to God to deliever them and to reinstate them and to bring them back to their inheritance. But when the solution came or comes, they did not believe it and we don't believe sometimes that sometime our next meal can be out of the soup kitchen or that the way the Lord is going to take care of you is by chemo-therapy or insulin. The glory of science and technology and advancement thereof is all a miracle of God and not of man. Not it is not everyday that we can call fire from heaven and...

Imagine What the World Would be Like if the Science Community and the Church Community Both Believed in a God-Based Evolution
Posted by: faithful777 (Posted: 02/16/2009 3:37pm)
Is it even possible to imagine such a scenario since once a mind forms an opinion on a certain matter it will label all information that it receives, which is in disagreement with its opinion, as being false or suspicious. Only those who can force their minds to lay aside long-held opinions long enough to examine evidence with an open mind can they ever receive the truth on any matter. No matter which side of the fence you are on in the creation-versus-evolution debate, I ask you to set aside your opinions long enough to imagine what the world would be like if the science community and the church community both believed in a God-based evolution. Would parents encourage their children to study science more than they do now? It is no secret that many in the church community don't trust the science community. If you take away the fear and mistrust from parents, what would happen? Surely with increased encouragement from parents, more children would grow up to be God-loving scientists. Today nine out of ten 18- and 19-year-olds that are raised up in church-going families leave the church and never return. I believe one of the reasons they...

Creation vs: Evolution
Posted by: paul2448 (Posted: 02/06/2009 5:16pm)
Hey everyone. Yea I am learning about Evolution in Biology class, and I saw the most amazing thing. I saw people standing up for what they belived. They said that the God is the one that created the Earth and everthing we see. That made me stand up and side with them. i had to pick a side and choose to go the right way, I thank God for giving those people the courage for sharing their thoughts on Evolution and saying that Creation was how the things in this world were made, like people, animals, and plants. I want to thank those people for sharing, and standing up yesterday. God is the one who createefd the Earth and everthing that we see in it today. Thank you God for everthing you have giving me and thanks for creating the world I live in today. The times might be tough, but with God's help you can make it through this life. Paul Geckle...

Fingerprints of Creation
Posted by: pk777 (Posted: 01/26/2009 1:42pm)
Fingerprints of Creation are everywhere, and there is a scientist Robert V. Gentry who wrote the below description elaborating upon God'd handiwork. I found it quite interesting. Did you know that scientific evidence abounds to support the biblical accounts of creation and the flood? Were you aware that reports outlining this evidence passed peer review, and were published in the open scientific literature? Have you heard that, decades later, this evidence still stands unrefuted by the scientific community? See our Knoxville News Sentinel Ad, Advertising Our Meeting on April 9, 2008. (This is posted on their web site) An Overview Etched within Earth's foundation rocks - the granites - are beautiful microspheres of coloration, halos, produced by the radioactive decay of primordial polonium, which is known to have only a fleeting existence. The following simple analogy will show how these polonium microspheres - or halos - contradict the evolutionary belief that granites formed as hot magma slowly cooled over millions of years. To the contrary, this analogy demonstrates how these halos provide unambiguous evidence of both an almost instantaneous creation of granites and the young age of the earth. A speck of polonium in molten rock can be compared to...

Were We Really Made in the Image of God?
Posted by: faithful777 (Posted: 12/25/2008 2:22pm)
God is spirit and light and exists in the spiritual realm. He is the creator of the universe and all living things. We are flesh and bone, and Earth is our home. We have 98.4 percent of the same genes as chimpanzees, which indicates we are closely related (WGBH Educational Foundation and Clear Blue Sky Productions, Inc. 2001). Yet, the written Word of God informs us that we are made in God's image and after His likeness. God's Word is truth. There is no need for believers to worry that if they search deep enough or think long enough they will prove that God's Word is faulty. We don't know how man first came to be because we don't know what kind of man God created on Day Six, nor do we know the nature of the man that He placed within the Garden of Eden. The reason we lack knowledge about the kind of man He created on Day Six and the kind of man He formed to be placed in the Garden of Eden is because we don't know the true nature of a creation day. This lack of knowledge concerning a creation day would disappear if we...

Can Evolution be Found in Any of the Bible Stories?
Posted by: faithful777 (Posted: 12/16/2008 2:05pm)
The evolution process can be clearly seen in the Book of Genesis where Jacob wanted to prosper at his father-in-law Laban's expense. Jacob used his knowledge of evolution to take advantage of his father-in-law in an agreement they had between the two of them. Jacob was caring for Leban's livestock. In exchange, Jacob was to receive any young livestock that was born ringstraked, speckled, or spotted. By changing the creatures' environment, Jacob caused their minds to transmit information to the souls of the creatures, which caused an increased number of the livestock's young to be born ringstraked, speckled, and spotted to adapt to their new environment. And Jacob took him rods of green poplar, and of the hazel and chesnut tree; and pilled white strakes in them, and made the white appear which was in the rods. And he set the rods which he had pilled before the flocks in the gutters in the watering troughs when the flocks came to drink, that they should conceive when they came to drink. And the flocks conceived before the rods, and brought forth cattle ringstraked, speckled, and spotted. And Jacob did separate the lambs, and set the faces of the flocks toward...

Why Does the Number 666 Represent the Antichrist?
Posted by: faithful777 (Posted: 12/08/2008 3:50pm)
The answer to the above question is important. It is the golden key to unlocking Satan's most guarded secret, which is his dialogical plan or method of operation to destroy God's plans for man. The three sixes represent three statements that God spoke on Day Six concerning man. The first statement caused man to be created in the image and after the likeness of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The second statement gave man dominion over all creatures that were on earth. The last statement gave man permission to eat plants and fruits. The number 666 first belonged to man because God had given him rule over these three statements that He had spoken on Day Six. Satan became the ruler over man and the number 666 after his three victories over man. Satan's first victory came when he got both the man and the woman in the Garden of Eden to eat of the forbidden fruit. Satan's second victory came when he was able to persuade Cain to kill Abel. His third victory was accomplished when he convinced man to knit their hearts and souls together by building a city and a tower...

Reconciling Science and the Bible
Posted by: faithful777 (Posted: 12/08/2008 3:34pm)
Today, untold multitudes of young people will make the most important decision of their lives. Their decision has nothing to do with drugs, sex, school, occupation, or marriage. As important as it is to make wise decisions concerning any of these life situations, they are all minor compared to the decision of whether to believe or not to believe in God. The choice of believing in God is made especially difficult in this day and age because of the perceived difference between the story of creation in the Bible and scientific evidence. Only God knows how many souls will reject His written Word today because they have come to believe it is in conflict with sound scientific evidence. When I was a lad in the eighth grade in Creston, Ohio, an elderly lady would come to my school and teach from the Bible. I remember sitting at my desk thinking, "There is no way the universe and everything in it could have been created in six, twenty-four-hour days. If the Bible is wrong about creation, how can I trust anything else that is written in it?" How many times each day are similar stories taking place? Whatever the number is,...

Are We Created Beings or Evolved Creatures?
Posted by: faithful777 (Posted: 12/06/2008 6:09pm)
Have you had "the talk" with your child yet? No, I'm not speaking of the birds and the bees. Sooner or later children raised in Christian homes return from school asking, "Did man evolve from animals, or did God create him from the dust of the earth?" If you assure your little one that God was the creator of man, just the way it is written in the Bible, be prepared for more questions. "Why do my biology book and my school teacher say man evolved like all the other animals?" Bookstores and libraries are full of books that can guide parents concerning what to say to children about sex, but I have yet to find a book with a satisfactory answer to why scientific evidence doesn't seem to agree with the story of Creation found in the Bible. Parents need truthful answers to questions like "Did man evolve from apes?" Your child depends on you for good advice and truthful information, so seek answers to these questions before you are asked. The key to knowing how man came to be on this planet is to know exactly what it means to be "made in the image and after the...

How Can You Use the Secret to Life to Get Your Dream Job?
Posted by: faithful777 (Posted: 12/06/2008 5:59pm)
Hopefully you have already read the articles on "Revealing God's Secret to Life" and "How can you use the Secret to Life to make your life better?" If not, you may want to go read those articles first before reading this article. To answer the above question on how to get your dream job, first, God created the laws that are the source of the Secret to Life's power, so you need God on your side. You should therefore pray and ask God to lead you to the job that is best for you. He will then place in your heart a desire for a certain kind of work. This desire won't go away. That is one way you will know if it is from God. In fact, for some of you God may have already placed this desire in your heart. The next thing you need to do is to plant two types of seed, spiritual seed and physical seed. Spiritual seed is when you give of your time and money into a field that you are interested in. For example, if you want to become an electrician, a good spiritual seed to sow would be to give of...

Revealing God's Secret to Life
Posted by: faithful777 (Posted: 12/05/2008 11:20am)
You are about to learn the secret to having the life you have always wanted. Your heart's desire is now available for the taking. Are you ready to make your dreams come true? What you are about to learn from this article comes from the Bible, and it is the truth as I understand it. The secret to life is that each of us has three powers. The way we choose to use each of these powers determines the kind of life we experience. The first power is the ability to choose what voices we will listen to and what things we will look upon. Man's second power is the power to choose the subject matter of our imagination. Imagination creates desire, which rules over the body to create deeds. People that have accomplished deeds have the ability to influence others, which is the third power. The ability to influence others is a major key to a successful life. Eve's actions in the Garden of Eden are perfect examples of the three powers of man. She heard the voice of the serpent and looked upon the forbidden fruit, she imagined the serpent was telling the truth when he said the...

God IS
Posted by: truthnluv (Posted: 11/06/2008 6:45pm)
In school we are taught (are should I say use to be taught) that one plus one equals two. Five plus two equals seven. Zero plus zero equals NOTHING! That is so simple, even a child can understand. Children had their own desks and played together at recess. Healthy lunch was served and great snacks were in the machines. The Bible and not man was the Authority. As a matter of fact, a long time ago, the bible was taught in school. I might have it backward and the bible was used for teaching. The point is God IS! He said I AM God and I change not (Malachi 3:6). The bible says, in the beginning God, but man says in the beginning nothing. So according to the so called smartest brains on earth, NOTHING plus NOTHING equals something. In the beginning God said, let there be light. From then until this day, light be... .my point...God IS! According to the smartest of the smart, Something evolved out of Nothing. Since everything is evolving, including mankind (so they say). How come the sun still rises in the east and sets in the west? If everthing is evolving, than it could...

What does bilbe say about Darwinism
Posted by: georgewrites (Posted: 10/28/2008 11:19pm)
I have personally accepted Christ in last one year after that i'v been introduced to some of the friends in my university who are self proclaimed atheists. They counter my faith by justifying evolution and darwinism, they say god's creation is just fantacy nothing else. They glorify figures like Nietzsche and others. sometimes i also get convinced by their 'faith' but soon i realise my faith is far more better than theirs. I'm cluless as in how to respond to them. I sometimes feel like a clown when they mock my faith. I want to stay away from them but still I fell that they are my mission field. It's hard and i'm in dark what to do next. the major question they now raise is if there is God why does he allow attrocities on his children( i mean to make you aware of the attacks on christians in state of Orrissa,India.) Where is he when his children are butchered alive and their house is being lighted. any help? Regards George...

evolution dismisses original sin
Posted by: bethy (Posted: 08/13/2008 2:01am)
I am totally enthralled by the differences of opinions on creation versus evolution. My problem with evolution is that if we accept the process of evolution where does that leave original sin. God tells us that when he created the world everything was perfect. There was no death . Evolution tells us that as things grew and changed there was the natural selection of one species over the other. Some thrived and others died. God tells us that death entered the world through one man. Adam. So surely if death was in the world before Adam sinned then how did death enter the world through him. In my view if we discount the actual creation in six days then we cannot hold the bible to be completely true. Either we believe all of it or we believe non of it. When i worry i hold to the scripture that before the foundation of the world God knew me. thats not evolution, thats revolution. Friends i believe that intelligence design is the thin edge of the evolutionary wedge. To accept anything less than a creator God is the first step in a slippery slope. Goodness me we have to take the...

The Frontiers of Science
Posted by: joshopp (Posted: 08/02/2008 3:33pm)
The cover of US News and World Report declares that the magazine will be exploring the The Frontiers of Science. You can imagine how intrigued I was to see that 3 of the 6 stories listed on the cover deal with evolution, the origin of life, and the existence of life on other planets. On the internet, the title declares "Science grapples with some of life's biggest questions." So often, the church has pitted itself up against science and made scientists out to be the bad guys. I would encourage you to read the articles this week and note one thing, that scientists are searching for truth just like everyone else. And just like everyone without Christ, they are looking in the wrong direction. It is so amazing to me how much of modern science is encroaching upon issues of morality, origins, and the meaning of life. This truth really hit home when I read the closing sentence of the article on alien life. Astronaut Shostak states "we're going to find out, one way or another, that biology is not a miracle." What a passionately subjective (and non-scientific) statement mocking the possibility of a Creator. This man is not looking...

Evolution Vs Creationism
Posted by: ezek125 (Posted: 01/13/2008 4:15pm)
Evolution Vs Creationism My fellow Christians, it troubles me when I hear other Christians say the earth is between two thousand and fourteen thousand years old. Matthew 5:16 states "In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." I ask, how can a non-Christian praise our father in heaven when our reply to how old the earth is, is often troubling at best? We have an obligation to God in heaven as Christians, to answer questions presented to us, as concisely as possible. I have heard Christians stumble over the questions about "how old is the earth" and the evolution of man for years. To me evolution and the Bible (My Bible being the Holy Bible New International Version) have never contradicted each other. I am a person of God and I am also a person of science. Three things we understand as Christians. The Bible is the word of God and we are Gods creation. Genesis 1:27 states "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them"...and the third is God is...

Darwin on Trial
Posted by: slooper (Posted: 12/17/2007 7:14am)
When Phillip E. Johnson published "Darwin on Trial" in 1991, he did not just write another book debunking Darwinism. There is already a wealth of material out there that presents convincing arguments and proofs showing that Darwin's theory can not and, in fact, "did not" happen. The question that arises is this: if Darwinism has been successfully refuted, then why is it still the prevailing theory in the scientific community? It is here where Phillip Johnson goes beyond merely debating the evidence and exposes the philosophy behind Darwinism and its associated reasoning problems. With precise definitions, exceptional logic and exquisite communication skills Johnson reveals that "science" (repeatable testing and observation) is not at the root of Darwinism, but rather naturalistic philosophy. Naturalistic philosophy teaches that all things came into existence as a result of purely natural causes. In Darwinism, only naturalistic interpretations of the evidence are accepted, and any concept of creation, explicitly stated or implied, is considered religious myth and therefore has no application in science. In other words, when a creationist speaks, evolutionists plug their ears. Johnson's aim is to change this naturalistic stranglehold over science by not only exposing the flaws in Darwinism, but by promoting the...

Why Christians Should Have A Problem with Evolution
Posted by: sothankful (Posted: 12/02/2007 2:36am)
Very early on in my Christian experience, I saw a contradiction of what I read in Genesis, with our cultural belief in evolution. It was a problem. Here I had discovered the Word of God, and yet at the very beginning, Genesis, it appeared that God must have gotten it wrong. He said He created the world in six literal days (and Hebrew scholars confirm that the word used for 'day' which is 'yom' means a literal, twenty-four hour day in its context). If I couldn't trust the opening chapters of the Bible, then which parts could I trust? Why should I believe any of its claims or demands on my life if I could choose to disregard the very foundational chapters? And yet to accept it would bring about cultural pressure. It would go against the accepted belief system of evolution (wonderful design from NOTHING by NO-ONE). Did I dare to believe the One Who was there in the beginning and cannot lie? What did Jesus say about evolution? Is it true to say that He never 'weighed in' on the subject? When asked by the Pharisees whether it was OK to divorce, He answered in Mark 10:6, 'But...

Christ and evolution
Posted by: uglee (Posted: 11/26/2007 4:35pm)
I know this is a minority view among Christians, but I can't understand why any Christian would have a problem with Charles Darwin's theory of evolution. I think that as long as we stick to what Jesus Christ himself actually said and the views he expressed, we can't go wrong. What did Jesus say about evolution? He never weighed in on the subject. While it is widely assumed that since Jesus was a Jew and accepted the traditional Old Testament version of creation, there is nothing in the Bible which actually says what he thought about it. He did, however, set a precedent for challenging the Old Testament dogma when he negated the Jewish dietary laws. The Jewish dietary laws were no small matter to Jews, but since Chist said they were unimportant, Christians everywhere have ignored them. They are still in the Bible, but we no longer have a problem with them. We could save ourselves a lot of frustration and not risk being out of step with the rest of the world if we leave the matter of evolution for the scientists to determine. Evolution really has nothing to do with Christ and his message. Christ's message is...

Evolution - Fact or Theory or NEITHER
Posted by: pilgrim (Posted: 10/01/2007 7:36am)
The question is how long does a Theory stand, as a credible theory? After repeated attempts to scientifically valid its hypothesis has failed. While at the same time, the body of empirical scientific evidence continues to refute their hypothesis, and point in the opposite direction, to an Intelligent Designer. The only evidence being offered by the atheistic evolutionist's is 'pseudo-scientific proofs', to which they cling to, like pieces of wood, from a wrecked ship. They hold to them, not because they are scientific, because it is the only thing left to keep them afloat, the mother ship has sunk. The honest seekers of truth having acknowledged it, like Anthony Flew, leaving their driftwood of dogma and ideology, and swimming back to the shore and safety of true science. Anthony Flew, a British philosophy professor and leading champion of atheism recently changed his mind. He cited biologists' research of DNA points to Intelligence or first cause as opposed to evolution for the explanation of the creation of the universe....

Creation, Science, and Evangelism
Posted by: tracyf (Posted: 08/23/2007 7:04pm)
Creation, science and evangelism all go hand in hand in these modern times. While people may ask you about evolution, you have to remind them that it is a theory. A theory that has absolutely no solid evidence. A theory that actually flies in the face of all the good science that we can measure and evaluate (as you can with all good science). The only evolution you can truly count on is the evolution of the theory itself. Every 10 to 20 years it is turned on its ear. But I have given enough good type to a bad idea. Let us look at the things we can count on. The good Lord gave us a curious mind so we would search for His fingerprint in creation. There are to many irreducibly complex creatures in existence to allow the theory of evolution to gain much merit unless people want to use it as a wedge to displace Gods authority, so they can live as they please. For anyone who wants to learn to witness better, I will tell you two things that have revolutionized my witness. One is Creation Science Evangelism organized by Ken Hovind, which is online under...

God, time, and evolution: by Greg Hayes
Posted by: greg48 (Posted: 08/14/2007 7:20pm)
I proudly grew up under traditional Southern Baptist upbringing. For years, it was instilled in me that the Earth was about 6,000 years old. This was based on the 6,000 years of human history commonly taught by the dispensationalistic doctrine most common in modern Christianity. As I traveled from culture to culture and place to place, while serving in the Marine Corps, I somehow found myself more and more involved in the Pentecostal doctrine where I remain today. I still love the Baptists and all those who find common ground in the immaculate conception, glorious birth, holy life, sacrificial death, and victorious resurrection of our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. I believe in one Church (the body of Christ), one God, one Holy Spirit, and one heaven for all who believe and thrive in obedience to Him. As I continued to grow and study the Word, I found myself with many unanswered questions. The one question that I would like to address in this writing is why we as finite human beings insist on molding the Almighty into something we, ourselves, can conceive and understand. I find that God allows us to understand only that which He deems to be...

Creation vs. Evolution
Posted by: slooper (Posted: 07/29/2007 6:25am)
Creation vs. Evolution I was a product of the public school system and, as such, I was fed a steady diet of evolution. I was simultaneously raised in the church and learned that according to Genesis, God created all things. Since no mention of creation was made in school and no explicit teaching in my church either established biblical creationism or refuted evolution, I was forced to somehow reconcile these contrary positions on my own. For most of my life that amounted to a kind of tug-of-war where, on the one hand, I was inclined to believe the Bible, but on the other hand, I saw that evolution had the backing of science. Yet it was clear to me that these two views were not, in fact, compatible. In order to fully accept evolution, I would effectively be concluding that the God of the Bible was a myth. But evolution was unable to provide satisfactory answers to a number of my questions. For one thing, evolution did not have a viable answer to how matter came into existence. The Big Bang, the idea that everything in the universe was the size of a dot on this page and then exploded...

The Young Age of the Earth
Posted by: greybear (Posted: 06/18/2007 1:16pm)
Dr. Robert Gentry & The Young Age of the Earth I'd like to share a video put together by Robert Gentry and his son David Gentry. Dr. Robert V. Gentry is a nuclear physicist who worked 13 years for the Oakridge National Laboratory. He is recognized as the world's leading authority on polonium halos. When he began his research, he was an evolutionist. Today, Dr. Gentry is a fully convinced young earth creation scientist. In 1977 his discoveries led to his being called to testify in defense of the state's creation position at the 1981 Arkansas creation/evolution trial. There he testified his discoveries disproved Earth's evolutionary origin and instead affirmed the Genesis account of Earth's six-day creation and young age. I have posted the first of a 5 part series of videos that share much of what he wishes folks knew about what he calls "Our Young Earth". I hope you enjoy the information and share it with those you may run into and have a view that may differ from creation and a younger earth. Dr. Robert Gentry: The Young Age of the Earth (Video:1 of 5) <param...

Science, the praise of the creation! (A small dissertation) Part II
Posted by: ministeringinlove (Posted: 03/05/2007 6:35pm)
It is interesting how the universe seems established for one simple thing: human life, and is a great testament to the value being place in us out of the whole of creation. Upon the creation, as shown in Genesis, we see that God rested on the seventh day (Genesis 2:1-3) and made it holy, but was it for Himself that He rested? Is it not so that God, a self-sustained being who is solely dependant on nothing else, needs no break, for He is Almighty, but for what reason would He have rested but for us, the height of His creation. We were made in the image of God, in that we have the capacity to reason. We were made beings sharing the capacity for reason and logic, to be able to recognize the truth of His existence. There is not one aspect of the creation that speaks doubt to God's existence, for each calls out praises to His name: "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands." For all of that, it is but the height of the creation that speaks doubt to God. In the whole of existence, it is the...

Science, the praise of the creation! (A small dissertation)
Posted by: ministeringinlove (Posted: 03/05/2007 6:31pm)
The psalmist wrote in the beginning verse of Psalm 19: "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands." I find this to be incredibly accurate when considering the wondrous findings or discoveries made by the study of natural processes: science. Cosmology has established with a fair degree of certainty that the universe in which we exist is not the static expanse that it was once thought of, but is rather changing and not just changing, but growing! This was first predicted by a Russian physicist and mathematician by the name of Alexander Friedmann who, through using Einstein's general theory of relativity, that it should not be thought of as static. This was supported by a discovery of Edwin Hubble, in 1929, who found that a galaxy's red shift (a galaxies movement away from us) was directly proportional to the distance the galaxy was from us, meaning that "the farther a galaxy is from us the faster it is moving away!" this meant that the universe could not be static (Hawking, A Brief History of Time, 39-40). Stephen Hawking explained that upon such a discovery, many who found such a proposition as ugly and...

God's Miracles
Posted by: allforhim (Posted: 03/01/2007 4:08am)
Yesterday our doe or nanny(depending on who you are) gave birth to not one, two but three kids! Triplets! We were awestruck, three perfect little babies. It happened as both my husband and I were taking steps of obedience in our financial situation and BOOM here we have three goat kids, which will result in some income for us. But as I looked at them and watched as they so instinctively found mama's udder and nursed and how mama goat was attentive and loving to all three kids (albeit a little overwhelmed, three!) I was again just pondering in my heart how perfect God designed things to the very last detail and how could anyone believe we all just got here by accident, some freak of nature! His design is so perfect, so complete, that even the animals know just what to do and we bear witness to His Glory in all the little things of daily life. I am so glad that we live on a small farm, and can watch and see all God's little miracles occur before us. I look out in awe as the sun rises in back of our house and comes up behind the...

Born Again in Calgary
Posted by: maddie (Posted: 01/19/2007 10:06pm)
Hi: My name is Maddie and I'm a new to blogging. I love the Lord although it wasn't always so. I turned away from God at a young age convincing myself that he wasn't real. Later in life when atheism had failed, I believed in God but I didn't believe in a loving God. To my amazement, I was born again in the summer of 2003 and Jesus was nothing like I had imagined Him to be. Rather He is a loving caring Father who has a plan bigger than I can imagine for me. I'm interested in learning more about scientific evidence for creation. The reason is I love to evangelize but I don't always have the answers. Today there are so many different believes, hinduism, Darwanism, Buddism, Mysticism, mormonism, etc., that sometimes I just don't want to evangelize if I think there will be too many questions I can't answer. I know God has called me honour Him, and I don't think shying away from the tough questions really honours God. Whew coming up with 150 words this late on a Friday night was a bit of a stretch. I need to push the computer away as I...

It is important to me.
Posted by: onfire (Posted: 01/12/2007 8:14pm)
If you are not passionate about Evolution or Creation and haven't really looked into it, I feel you shouldn't really have a strong opinion on it. It did matter to me. If people say it no big deal then that may be their opinion, it probable makes no difference to them, but my opinion is that it does matter & there would be others that it affects as well. There is a lot of research out there that needs to be read if you want to be able to state strongly you believe either argument. I know of people who want to believe in God, but when it comes to evolution they feel it is proven fact & see no place for God if evolution is right. Others say they would prefer not to look into evolution/creation too deeply because they may find something that turns them off God. But why should we be afraid of science, a lot of recent research is pointing towards creation. When I first became a christian I assumed christians did not believe evolution because to me evolution is just a scientific theory, nowhere near scientific fact. I believe in a God who cares for...

A mighty big fuss about mighty little
Posted by: needlyfeet (Posted: 12/27/2006 9:16am)
I have often referred to the creation/evolution issue as a "contrived" controversy, generally resulting in much snorting or hand waving from whichever believer or nonbeliever was hearing the reference. Not that I go around trolling for opportunities to throw in my two cents, but my work as a geologist drops me into such discussions probably a bit more than average. It has long been my opinion that the controversy stems more from perception than anything else. I have never found anything in Genesis that does not generally agree with current theory about the beginning of the universe. I do not use "generally" as in "almost" but rather "in a condensed version". God might have given all the details to Moses, but a million pages of Genesis would be tough going for even the most faithful of the faithful. On the other hand, nonbelievers are quite content to cite evidence, both observed and inferred, all the way back to the "Big Bang" and leave it at that. Before that, there is no physical description of any process, so "it just happened in a way not clearly understood" has to suffice. Try using that one with a policeman some time and see...

Creator and Created
Posted by: clayonmyeyes (Posted: 05/05/2006 6:01am)
One of the difficulties in debating evolution is defining 'human'. If there is any one trait that stands out to make one human it must be creativity. Any hypothetical creature that might have existed before man that walked, talked and looked like us but that had no creative capacity whatsoever could not be human. It is our ingenuity, our ability to imagine, that separates us from the beasts. Ants are industrious and build. Bees have a complex social order. The animal kingdom is highly developed, yet they can not imagine and imagination, or creativity defines man. This only stands to reason as we were created in God's image, the original Creator. We were created in God's image. So we search for Him in things and ways that only man can. We can discuss evolution, morals, creativity, and art. We come up with scientific hypothesis. Some claim that chimps using a stick to retrieve termites reflects creativity. I would argue that this is a highly developed form of positive reinforcement. The conscious production of something entirely new (devoid of trial and error) is a uniquely human trait. Is this the simple product of evolution? Impossible. Ironically, this may be a significant...

What's a Missing Link?
Posted by: greybear (Posted: 02/07/2006 12:08pm)
What's a Missing Link? Abstract While we don't really know what a missing link is (or was), we can know what they should be. As each type evolves into something else, there should be numerous in-between types, each stage gaining more and more traits of the descendant while losing traits of the ancestor. "John Morris, Ph.D." Evolutionists often speak of missing links. They say that the bridge between man and the apes is the "missing link," the hypothetical ape-like ancestor of both. But there are supposed missing links all over the evolutionary tree. For instance, dogs and bears are thought to be evolutionary cousins, related to each other through a missing link. The same could be said for every other stop on the tree. All of the animal types are thought to have arisen by the transformation of some other animal type, and at each branching node is a missing link, and between the node and the modern form are many more. If you still don't know what a missing link is, don't worry. No one knows what a missing link is, because they are missing! We've never seen one. They're still missing. Evolution depends on innumerable missing links, each...

The Creation Evidence Museum
Posted by: greybear (Posted: 01/30/2006 8:26am)
The Creation Evidence Museum My family, all 13 of us at the time, visited the Creation Evidence Museum, in Glen Rose-Texas, last year while we lived in Hugo, Oklahoma. (We now live in Ohio.) At the time we were working at The Goodland Presbyterian Boys Home and had the opportunity to take our cottage of boys with us. Carl Baugh, the founder, was there on site at the museum that day and he spoke for the visiting group. There is a speaker scheduled for talks on site (check the scheduled talk times when you get there). He, Carl, was a great speaker for guest of all ages! Appealing at times to the adults while keeping the kids hanging right in there. He also had with him members of NASA, world recognized Archaeologists and Paleontologists, as well as other science experts. They weren't there for us; Carl had a meeting later that day that involved a briefing on an archaeological dig he had just returned from. The big time guests simply sat in on the presentation. We did get to meet them all after the presentation. My boys thought it was cool to meet someone from NASA. If you get near...
