Scriptures To Commit to Memory
Posted By: greybear

Psalms 119:11:

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

There is no better witness that you are serious about spiritual growth then to be able to pull God's word from your heart when He calls you into a situation to share the Good News with someone.

I will add a few more and would encourage others to do the same. Add a single verse or a few that speak to a specific part of life for you.

In Christ,
GreyBear

Psalms 1:1-6:

[1]Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. [2]But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. [3]And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. [4]The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. [5]Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. [6]For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Psalms 23:1-6:

[1]A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. [2]He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. [3]He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. [4]Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. [5]Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. [6]Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Psalms 84:11:
