Scriptures To Commit to Memory |
 |

Psalms 119:11:
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
There is no better witness that you are serious about spiritual growth then to be able to pull God's word from your heart when He calls you into a situation to share the Good News with someone.
I will add a few more and would encourage others to do the same. Add a single verse or a few that speak to a specific part of life for you.
In Christ,

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Jeremiah 15:16:
Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17[16]Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? [17]If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

His Power
Psalms 62:11:
God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.
1 Chronicles 29:11-12[11]Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all. [12]Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Psalms 46:1:
To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Psalms 46:10:
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Psalms 18:1-2:
[1]To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, the servant of the LORD, who spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul: And he said, I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. [2]The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Disaster
Isaiah 63:9:
In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.
Psalms 61:2:
From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
2 Chronicles 14:11-12[11]And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee. [12]So the LORD smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled.
