Turning The Grace Of Our God Into Lasciviousness

billyb posted:

Jude verse 4. Lasciviousness is defined by Strong's as G766, licentiousness. KJV also uses the Greek for 'filthy' in 2nd Pet. 2:7, and Jude verse 8. And 'wantonness' in Rom. 13:13 and 2nd Pet. 2:18.The Greek for 'turning' in Jude v.4 is also notable elsewhere. It is G3346, defined to transfer i.e. (lit) transport, by(by impl.), exchange (reflex) change sides, or (fig) purvert. (misspelled due to the word filter here). The same Greek is used in Gal. 1:6 as 'removed', and also 'translated' in reference to Enoch in Heb. 11:5.Just as there were those who taught and mixed Law with grace, which turns into works based salvation, and as there are also those now who do the same, there were also those who taught and mixed licentiousness with grace, and turned the grace of God into licentiousness, there are also those now who do the same.Paul, and the others that...

BOTH Now And Ever

billyb posted:

Jude v25. And also Jude v4. Verse 25 says be glory and majesty, dominion and power, this is for NOW, and ever. We know that the day is coming wherein ALL will bow before Him, and He will judge all. He is Lord of lords, and Kings of kings. As believers in Him, we need to decide, WHEN, we heed this. Considering this verse, and, many, many verses in scripture, I will write that we need to let Him be ALL of these things, NOW. Not future, not something we did in the past, but NOW, and ever, as scripture, here, tells us to. I got an app on my iphone, wherein I can listen to scripture, as I drive and work. These verses just really struck me, as I listened to the word of God being read, in Jude. This epistle is so fitting for this particular time that...

billyb posted:

That's my work truck. I had a blog all written up, I wanted to share here. I left it in that work truck. Biblical, one that challenges the studious. But, I left it. So, I come here just to blog. There are those who do not really like what I blog about. I have had some various nametags attached in reference to what I write, and also believe. I have in the past, and do now, and will in the future, always be willing to go over any topic, with the scripture, with anyone. I firmly believe that scripture should be our guide for everything we may question or accept about what we believe, and why. And that rightly using it.Any topic, at all, I have blogged about since I been here. This is no game, some convenient pastime, with me. I take it very serious. I hope that everyone...

billyb posted:

Is mine of course. I have noticed the word 'religion' being used a lot, of late, here. I would strongly urge folks to find out what the word really means, instead of what it is thought to mean of many. My mom was a religious, Christian, mom. She was a Christian religiously, and she could not read or write, but she knew the meaning of both words. She lived a life that proved she did. I would read the bible to her often, and she cared for none of the theological terms that learned people apply so often in their study of it. As she would just listen, and pay close attention to each word that was read, she taught me a lot about the scripture, by just listening to me read it to her. I learned a profound reverence and respect for Gods word, through her. And I also...

The Importance Of Scripture

billyb posted:

The use of the scripture today, and how many are using it, is cause for alarm in the body of Christ. The gospels are for everyone, and what many believe concerning them is just alarming. Jesus Christ spoke to Nicodemus, at night, and he was also a jew, but for one to consider that what He told him, had no bearing on us, is just ridiculous. And the commission Jesus gave to His apostles, in Matthew 28, was also to jewish disciples, but to in any way believe that they were not to His people, of whatever nation or race, is also ridiculous. I could go on and on, throughout the gospels. And all the rest.Yes, Hebrews is written to jewish believers, but to believe that the words contained in the epistle is not for others, who are also believers, again, is just ridiculous. Both, then, and also now. As...

Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty

billyb posted:

A brother here asked me if I had posted anything in love, without any condemnation. I thank him for that. We need each other in ways we will probably never understand. But God is God, and this is the point here.Revelation 4:811. Read it for yourself. I doubt that any of us can do the words proper, in this present time. I can't. This separates the REAL God, from all the other. His Name is above any other. Be it Moses, Muhammad, Buddah, Joseph Smith, or any other name. And there are others. Gods Son, Jesus the Christ, came, and saved us from sin. His is the Name above any other name. What is He worthy of? What depth can His grace not reach? Or yes, also His judgment. I have wondered, as all of us, why is there evil? Why are we so drawn to it? The world is sick...

Knowing The Enemy

billyb posted:

In the movie 'The Last Samurai' , this was the objective of both the character that Tom Cruise plays, and also the samurai leader that he was sent to fight. To 'know the enemy'. When it comes to battling the dark forces of evil, in the realm of the spiritual, I believe that we fail many times in recognizing and learning the tactics of the enemy.Satan and his minions most likely will not use fear in their warfare against our walk of faith, in Christ. The tactic is the same that he has always used, that proves to be most effective. Use the very word of God, and manipulate what it says, to bring doubt and deceit into a persons faith, and cause them to disbelieve the truth that God has given to us, and either change it, or just not believe it.Intelligence, logic, and reason, only furthers his cause...

Satans Real Messengers?

billyb posted:

They are a LOT more plentiful than many will believe them to be. By the authority given from GOD Himself, I am going say here that there are many of them who use the name of Jesus, and also comprise much within Christendom itself. They are on the radio. the tv, have dvds, among some methods, and even frequent Christian websites, and also preach and teach in churches within Christendom. Or, is samesex clergy, unions, blessings, and such like, of GOD too? Of course not, Wake up people! Such messages and messengers are NOT OF GOD. In fact such make Him sick, and He loathes them. Oh yes, folks, they use the name of Jesus Christ, and preach love in their message, exclusively too. You won't likely hear anything about 'fire and brimstone' in their message either, unless it is to scold and mock someone else, who does. What kind of...

Yet Once More

billyb posted:

Hebrews 12:26,27, Whose voice then shook the earth: but now He hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. 27. And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. Yet once more. In the modern age we are in, anything goes. So many believe. It is all good. The only thing unacceptable is to believe in only one way. One truth. Yet the One who will shake everything, is the only One who we can truly believe in, and be safe. This day will come, and the time of its coming will not tarry. Many will consider the previous destruction a myth. Or, one that only involved a small region. The books that our public school systems use will not recognize that those...

It Has Always Been By Grace

billyb posted:

It was established before the foundation of the world, that Jesus Christ would come, to save His people. I read and hear what some write and speak about this age of grace we are in. But it has never been limited to the New Testament. Noah, found grace, in the eyes of the LORD. The deliverance of the people of Israel, was not due to works. Nor their descendants entering into the land of promise. We struggle, theologically, intellectually, and also spiritually, with these things given us. Grace, mercy, and love, through our Lord Jesus Christ. The new birth through the Holy Spirit. The relationship they have with our faith and obedience. And scripturally, there is definitely a relationship folks. The greatest of theologians, and churches, their teachings, and books, and statements, and people, have failed to truly understand it all. And still do. You, and I, are no exceptions, regardless...
