Unconditional Love, What Does It Really Mean?

kraftykatz posted:

When people started using this terminology, God loves us unconditionally; I thought that was a good thing. I have watched and listened over the years and noticed a trend that disturbs me.Yes God loves us unconditionally. He is not going to stop loving us. He did not stop loving Adam and Eve. He did not stop loving King David. He has not stopped loving me through all my sins. I love my children unconditionally. But and this is a big BUT; I would never give my children over to death for your benefit. God loves us not only unconditionally but fiercely. It is a love that is deeper then any we could feel. I would never sacrifice my child for your life. God gave His son for our souls. He loves us that fiercely and with that much passion. God put restrictions on life in the garden. He did that...

Beauty From Disaster

kraftykatz posted:

Our God is awesome. This is a photo of an accident, a paint truck tips over and look at the beautiful mess. I love those colors all running down. There is a lesson here from God. God is able to take our worse mistakes and make beauty of it. All of my mistakes in life, all of my bad choices, God lets them all run together and makes me look beautiful. We are all a product of our past, all the good all the bad, blended together make us who we are. These experiences form our lives define us as individuals in God’s eyes. The people we know and interact with all blend together. Everything that happens in our lives, God always has a plan no matter how badly we mess up. When Adam and Eve took that first disobedient step, they broke fellowship with God. God knew just what...

The Rear View Mirror

kraftykatz posted:

I have been reading a very good book, God Loves Broken people, by Sheila Walsh. In one chapter she used an example of not being able to drive forward constantly looking in the rear view mirror. The review mirror is there to occasionally look at where we have been but we must look ahead to move forward. She then related this to our Christian walk. She is so right in this. The past many times inserts its self into our present. Old memories, hurts, disappoint and pains come crashing into our life. We have other times where our Christian walk seems to have stalled or maybe even stopped. Looking back reminds us how far we may have come, but we can not live there. We live in the now with our eyes focused on eternity. We must know where we are going and why. We should remember where we have...

Love Marriage Commitment Covenant Vows

kraftykatz posted:

The divorce rate for Americans is outrageous high. The divorce rate among Christians is as high as for nonbelievers. Commitment is more then a piece of paper issued by the government. Yet once a couple enters into that legal marriage with a license issued by the government, they must honor that. The New Testament says let your yes be yes and your no be no. Just because one or both parties in a marriage feel they do not have a covenant marriage, they are still married in the eyes of God because of that paper. It is a vow, a commitment, a covenant, and a promise. Let your yes be yes and your no be no. We would not need a legal marriage license or any legal contracts between humans if everyone let their yes be yes and their no be no. I believe it is possible for a couple...

A Blessing In A Difficult Time

kraftykatz posted:

On New Year’s Eve my 41 year old son was seriously burned in a fire. He shared a rented house with 3 other young men, having their own private room, but sharing the rest of the very large old home. My son was set to work on 1/1 so he went to bed early. He woke up in the hospital. He remembers nothing. He lost almost everything. His 2 cats survived, but the one we could not catch and she has run off. We have the other, a black male named Shadow with us. He had a couple baskets of clean clothing down stairs. He lost his eye glasses. He has 2nd and 3rd degree burns over his entire left arm, armpit, chest, back and shoulder. A skin graft was done on Tuesday. He was in the hospital for 9 days. We made arrangements for him to move in with us...

kraftykatz posted:

I was very troubled when this shooting happened. My mind had a very difficult time wrapping itself around the idea that young children were targeted. I wrote this poem in memory of those beautiful children and their teachers. Beautiful Children Taken Away December 15, 2012 Beautiful children taken awaySuddenly while at school one dayBeing children young and carefreeWill never again climb a treeLook forward to a little league gameFamily life will never be the sameBeautiful children taken awaySuddenly while at school one dayFrom this life they were takenNever to play in the sun againTo fly a kite or run and singOr play around a duck goose ringBeautiful children taken awaySuddenly while at school one dayNever enjoy more birthday candlesWill never again make snow angelsThey were welcomed by angels aboveTo be with the God of infinite loveBeautiful children taken awaySuddenly while at school one dayBy a young...

It’s Not Chocolate Flavored Hard Candy

kraftykatz posted:

Many years ago when my husband works nights I made chocolate fudge. Or rather something that was supposed to be chocolate fudge. It was hard. I had to crack it into pieces rather then cut it into squares. I left it on the counter and went to bed disgusted with my efforts. The next morning my husband said he loved the chocolate flavored hard candy and could I make some more as he ate most of it. Well, I said that is not possible because it was suppose to be chocolate fudge. I have no idea what so ever what I did that made to turn into hard candy. Life is like that some times. We plan certain things and we think we do everything correctly but something goes wrong. Yet the end results are acceptable. It makes no sense does it? God is in control, even when we are...

How Much Of Life Is An Illusion?

kraftykatz posted:

This is one of my newer poems. I hope and pray you understand what I am saying. Illusions 9/22/12With so much confusion I often wonderWith emotions exploding like thunderHow much of life is an illusion? How do I come to a conclusion? There seems to be no logic or reasonI seem to be lost in an empty seasonWhere feelings and emotions are running wildLike a spoiled unruly undisciplined child. How do I put them into perspective? The real from that which is deceptive? If I follow my heart there would be painIf I follow my mind there is nothing to gain.It feels like the deepest passion of my heartIs destroying me and tearing me apartTwisting and turning is it an illusion? The passion within that brings confusion. The worst part is that it’s only meThe object of passion does not seeA one sided passion is empty at bestIt has no conclusion, will never be at...
