When My Heart Is Overwhelmed And Shattered And I Am Afraid

pastorpamdreamgirl posted:

Oh dear God .This is much harder than I thought it would or could ever be. Today, we are waiting for news about my brother's son. He is in a psychiatric hospital in Indiana. It is one of the best. We are thankful for doctors and medicine and for the hours they work with my nephew trying to reach him. Still, to say that our hearts are shattered would be an understatement. My brother and I are best friends. We coPastor a church together. We love God. We love our life. We love our family. And sadly, we have no understanding of WHY my nephew suddenly began to suffer and quickly required hospitalization. There was no neglect or traumatic event. That means there is nothing that we can do to help fix him. All of the other patients in this hospital have suffered a specific event or came from a...

pastorpamdreamgirl posted:

Bible Questions May 2013 Group TwoPastor Pam BonnerKacys FacebookTitle: Go Ahead and AskThis next question came from a concerned christian girl who felt that some of the bad things that have happened in her life may have been related to a curse put on her by a relative. Her question was Can a Christian be harmed because someone has put a hex or curse on them? The short answer is NO I will explain. First, when we received Jesus Christ into our heart and invite him to come and live in us we receive all of the provisions of the Covenant we have in Christ through the works of the Cross.Protection is included in the Covenant we have with God. If others were able to curse believers and harm them ...it would mean that the power of the enemy to do harm is greater than the power of God to...

The Comforter Has Come!

pastorpamdreamgirl posted:

I was born into a Christian home. I was dedicated to God at the age of 2 years old. I still have the picture. I was taught the Word of God from an early age. And I always loved the stories of the Bible. I loved hearing about the great miracles of God. I longed to have an angel come and visit me...just like Gabriel came to Mary. I always wanted to be like Esther beautiful and lovely and brave. I loved to hear about how Joseph overcame temptation and forgave his wicked brothers. I loved hearing how Saul was blinded by the light of God and was transformed by the power of God. I always wished i could have been in the upper room when the power of God first fell and they spoke with other tongues. The testimonies and stories of the Bible all seemed to come to...

pastorpamdreamgirl posted:

I'm concerned. I'm fairly certain that if you were to survey good church going people who were willing to be honest (as church going people should be) many would admit to being bored' with church. The truth is that church is NOT boring but the church is bored. There is a difference. The preaching and teaching as the Holy Spirit is being literally poured out during these last of the last days is anything BUT boring. Still, many people are bored. We are a nation that has been blessed by God. We have come into the good land and we are enjoying the milk and honey and the good grapes. We are satisfied with the blessings but have lost our passion for the God who has provided all of he blessings we enjoy. We take the blessings forgranted and we neglect to honor God. Lord, light the fire in us...

What On Earth Is Going On?

pastorpamdreamgirl posted:

What on Earth is Going On?The signs of the times are everywhere. WE are not living in the last days at least in my opinion...but we are living in the last of the last days. Things just aren't the same anymore. When the Bible compares the times of the end to a woman in labor and experiencing birth pains that should be our wake up call. I'm pretty sure every woman who has ever experienced labor knows that as her time to deliver gets near the pain increases and intensifies. The pains begin to come more frequently and they greatly increase in intensity and THAT is putting it mildly. We clearly see all of the signs outlined in God's Word increasing. We also see people who are suffering like never before. Oh that we would be like the sons of the tribe of Issachar who were able to understand and...

It is Mother's Day 2013. I am blessed. My heart is at rest and I am reflecting on our journey together. From the moment I heard I was going to have a baby, I wanted a little girl. I was blessed with three. God knew that although I wanted one I needed three daughters. What an amazing God. My Father knows best. The three of you are the most valuable and precious treasures I have on earth. Without you I would not be mom or grandma. I owe you for that. YOU have given me my greatest titles. It was great to be a mom. It was over the top amazing when you promoted me to grandma. You have each filled my life with joy. And you have...

For God So Loved His Girls That He Gave

pastorpamdreamgirl posted:

I think it's pretty obvious that women are important to God. They are important to the plan of God. This message often gets clouded in our society today. There are even people within the body of Christ who promote this unbalanced idea that women are somehow less in the eyes of God and of lesser importance than their male counterparts in the Kingdom of God. Nothing could be further from the truth. The plan of the enemy is to try and stop women from fulfilling the plans God has set forth for them. God honors women. His ways are higher. God does not SEE things as we see them. He can and will use anyone who is willing to be used. He will use the least of the least and the least likely. He chooses the foolish things (and often people) of this world to shock and confuse those who...

Have You Ever Said Yes When You Should Have Said NO ?

pastorpamdreamgirl posted:

I can't begin to tell you how many times I have said yes when I should have said no. As a very young child I learned that when people ask you a question they usually don't want no to be your response. It can be almost any question. Do you like the meatloaf grandma made? How could I possibly say no when grandmother worked all day making meatloaf just for me? What kind of kid would that make me? A meatloaf hating kind of girl. I could not say no to my grandmother. It would crush her. So I said yes and choked it down. The problem became a serious problem as I grew older. I figured out on my own that I was not a very honest person. I just wanted people to like me. I wanted to please those I loved and even strangers. I went places I...

If YOU Are Happy And You KNOW It :)

pastorpamdreamgirl posted:

This was my FAVORITE song in Sunday school. I remember we use to sing it often. As children we would stand and clap our hands to the tune of If you're happy and you know it say amen. Today, I'm not hearing a lot of clapping anymore and very few amens. I still remember the song and I still love it. Maybe instead of clapping and saying amen IF we know we are happy we should just go ahead and begin to clap and shout amen BEFORE we feel happy. Maybe that would be something we would consider doing as an act of faith. I meet so many people who are just not happy or content and many of these individuals are card carrying followers of Christ. They have been saved and baptized and attend church services faithfully. This always leaves me a little confused. I would like to ask...
