every promise in the book. |

Instructing my soul on the promises.
One thing for sure, my soul (that i can guarantee), is that Jesus will keep every promise to you. Just sing that heaven sent nursery song,'every promise in the book is mine, every chapter, every verse, every line'. You will thrive and grow if you enumerate the promises in His last will and testament, that which He signed in His own blood to show His love for you once and for all. Do not let one of them slip for you can lose them through neglect or ignorance. Never doubt His willingness or ability to give them to you for that is a built-in condition of the will.
Jesus promises you that He will return quickly to fulfill all His promises. You must learn to lay down all inward rebellion, for He promises to deny John's revealed blessings to rebels. This also applies to your right to the Holy City, and to your name not being blotted out of life's book. What a great day for you when John's revealed plagues come upon rebels as long as you are not one of them. For He promises you the right to enter the Holy City...

What if the dirty and haggard looking guy who stands at the exit to Wal Mart with a sign reading, "will work for food" was an angel sent there by the Lord to see how many Christians would scorn him, mock him, avoid him like the plague or simply ignore him?
What if the old guy who trudges around town everyday with a backpack full of who knows what and who daily shows up at the Senior Citizens facility for lunch and then to Wal Mart and then to Walgreens and then to the post office (all the while never saying a word to anyone but himself) was an angel sent by the Lord to see how many Christians would turn the other way when he approached, snicker as he passed them by or whispered about his "problems" when he was gone?
What if the crazy lady whose odor can be smelled a block away and who seemingly has only one set of clothes which she wears 365 days a year as she zips up to the post office everyday to get her mail was an angel sent by the Lord to see how many Christians would ignore her, be...

god's discipline |

Several days ago I fell under God's discipline like I had never known before. So much so that I am writing a blog about it..lol.. I had been praying more and more for God to bring the things out of my life that he did not want there, inculding the things I was not even aware of. Well a couple days ago something came up.. Something that I had never even thought of. Something that from the outside and from a non regenerate eye would not seem a big deal and cause some confusion. It came at first gently but that did not last but a moment as I did not want to have any of what was about to happen ever tho I had been asking God for it. Then it came and absolutely crushed me. It felt as if God had beat me up. I have not felt so horrible in my whole life. I can't describe the feeling to do justice, But it felt as if I had just been spanked by my father and I knew he wasn't done with the punishment. But times 234986. I was scared. I felt sorry. I felt crushed. I felt...

the conclusion of revelation |

Instructing my soul on last things.
Have you read the end of Revelation, which is the end of the whole Bible? Amen. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Surely I come quickly, says He who testifies of these things. And His last promise guarantees all the rest of His promises, and the two hundred and fifty separate benefits that go with them.
Did you notice that it is a warning to you and to everyone? Do you want God to take away your part from the things that are written in His book? Or out of the Holy City? Or out of the Life's Book? Then don't take a word away from His prophecies' books' words. Nineteen percent of the New Testament words are prophecy and provide history for you written in advance. The last book of the Bible alone contains thirty two separate plagues that you do not want. Do you want God to add unto you the plagues that are written in His Book? Then don't add anything to His prophecies' book's words. If you try and change His word, which exists on an eternal level, you will...

Have you ever said or written something that you wished you could take back? Or look back on it a few hours later and realize that that wasn't what you wanted to say at all?
Boy, have i just had one of those moments.
I'd just written a blog entry a few hours ago about how awful it was to be a divorced kid, not realizing in the process that I was painting my parents to be total monster-people. Then I sent it in, only to now realize how awful I made them (and my life) sound.
Oh, the folly of the tongue.
So please, I beg of you, so that you never find yourself in any type of tangled and mangled and totally mis-construed wordplay, think before you speak.
"We all stumble in many ways. . . . the tongue it a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider that a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. the tongue is also a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set...

is your conscience enough? |

 |

(Posted: 07/29/08 1:33pm)
Instructing my soul in basics.
You were innocent once in Adam. That mode of life was put to the test and found wanting and the record stands for all time and forever. You now know that innocence has to be strengthened with other things and this may be true of your conscience also. You are now benefiting from being tested as to 'obedience of faith', following upon the heals of 'obedience of law'.
Before these and before trying your hand under 'mutual accountability of behavior', you once lived under the positive conditions of being free to obey your conscience only. Whenever you got cross-ways with your knowledge of right and wrong, and your conscience rose up, you could offer a sacrifice to set things right. Offerings allowed you to prove your faith in the One who was promised, for that was the provision and that was accepted.
Before He came, offerings were living object lessons and the acceptable way to express faith. Faith in Jesus and His work has always been the one way to get out of the guilt, shame, and slavery of sin. His work was to offer Himself as the one thing that matched the need. The...

some significant words |

(Posted: 07/29/08 9:35am)
These are some meaningful words that God is using in my life these days. He is especially using them by making them meaningful to me and then giving me opportunity to apply the meaning to my life. I share what I have received and hope that it can be of some encouragement to others.
• SIN
Sin is a word that is surrounded by confusion and opinion. But for me it has become simple to define though not always easy to pinpoint. Romans 14:23b, "for whatsoever is not of faith is sin." There is no need to talk of cloths, tobacco, vocations, or any such things. If my activities and speech are in response to faith there is no need to discuss these things. But I must be ever growing, listening moving toward God and his will. God's will is defined for me in Romans 8:29 "...to be conformed to the image of his son." If someone has this as his standard there is no need to talk of other things, if not there is no profit in talking of other things.
I was listening to a preacher today or yesterday speak of sin and the devil. He spoke as...

Yesterday we got the privilege of having breakfast after church with our daughter. She came down for the weekend. I must say it is because her boyfriend is out of town as well as all of her friends and she was bored but I will take what I can get! We got a pleasant surprise at our new church. And I have to interrupt here and praise God for leading us to that church. Since this blog is about praise, I must take my own advise here. We have been in San Diego County for almost a year and until now have been church hopping. We stumbled divinely on this church and we love it! Yesterday Trevor Davis, a Christian musician who my daughter loves, sang at our church. As we walked in, my daughter's jaw dropped, "Oh my gosh, Trevor Davis is here?!" she said. Anyway I praise God for leading us to our new church.
After church, we went to breakfast. In the car on the way my daughter and hubby got into an argument. I noticed how patient my daughter had become in dealing with her father. PRAISE GOD! I have been praying for God to work...

"as the kansas family turns" final episode |
 |

(Posted: 07/27/08 5:13am)
In 1972 both my parents became involved with the same ministry I had hooked up with the year before. Within a very short period of time, my dad started manifesting the qualities of a "new man". The meekness in his heart was nothing short of incredible. Even though he had attended church (Lutheran, Methodist and Presbyterian) his whole life; he would be the first to tell everyone that he did not know God and he simply went every Sunday because he felt he was supposed to.
Once he was taught how to read and study the Bible and especially once he was baptized in the Holy Spirit his life changed radically. It took him about 5 or 6 years to fully be transformed, but after he survived his brain operation in 1976, he really turned every fiber of his life over to the Lord. My mom tagged along, but she never really saw the dramatic changes my dad did. Of course she really didn't have the need to like he did either.
By 1977 both of my parents were officially retired and after the death of my grandmother in 1978 they were able to really enjoy their lives for a...

(Posted: 07/26/08 3:29am)
In the next episode of "As the Kansas Family Turns" we start in a quiet neighborhood in Wichita. The two oldest children have moved away and have started families of their own. All that remains is mom, dad and the youngest child (me). These were interesting times in America, the 1960's. JFK had been assassinated and there was a huge change coming over the country. Week by week the conflict in Viet Nam was getting worse and more and more young men were being drafted to go over there and serve.
There was also a rebellious spirit arising in the country and a whole generation of young people were coming of age who did not respect authority and saw their mission in life to destroy the evil American beast. Of course by the late 1960's the whole country was being split apart due to issues with the war, race and social values
.
From the time my dad reached his 50th birthday he was different. He had started attending meetings held by the local group of Scientologists and another group really into UFO's. Between his involvement with these groups and a ever deepening drinking problem, he was rapidly losing control...

So this Christian life is so sweet. Nowhere else will some force, some type of love you the way Jesus Christ does. This is my first time really writing a blog so have patience. My life as a child of God has taken so many negative turns. It seems like the closer I move toward my Lord the further I am...I know this sounds confusing but just listen. K I'm in the choir and when the church service is over it seems like I'm right back where I started at. I have tried a million times to read the bible, but i quit after a few days. I stop listening to secular music and a month later I'm listening to it again. I think the problem is that it's I that can't do it by myself. When God isn't in the equation I believe the whole problem becomes so much more of a burden. So I'm sitting here wondering how I can become closer to my Jesus. I love him so much, but I think I have placed him behind a lot of factors in my life. I want to put him first and want to be right by his...

(Posted: 07/25/08 7:44am)
The year was 1931 and the place was a little town in Kansas named Madison. My grandparents owned a store that bought cream from local farmers which was in turn sold to the large dairy upstate. There were thousands upon thousands of such stores scattered across the country, for back "in the day" this is how milk made it from the cow on the farm to the people in the cities who had none.
My grandparents had five children; two boys (the first one died as an infant) and then three girls. My mother was the oldest girl, yet two years younger than her brother. The family lived in two room house with a front porch. There was no bathroom, no running water and only enough electricity for one light bulb. There was no telephone or television, but there was a radio and the town had a movie theater with cheap Saturday afternoon shows.
There were no "rich" relatives in this extended family. My grandmother came from a large family of mainly girls who grew up on "farm" (an impossibility due to the hills) deep in the Flint Hills of Kansas. The family had a tough life growing up due...

passion for christ (nothing about the movie...) |

(Posted: 07/25/08 6:11am)
Passion is a major key to our relationship with Him. How passionate are we about Him. How precious is He to us? How precious is a relationship with Him to us? How much will we guard that relationship? Let nothing come between us?
Where did that first love go? What are we doing to fan the flames of desire for more of Him in our daily lives?
Do we have a lot of head knowledge or do we have a lot of heart knowing?
Is He the most precious thing in my life today? He is jealous for us! He wants our hearts as devoted to Him as His is for us! He literally waits for us everyday. He waits for a word from us, a prayer, a communication, a song of songs from us.
We really can talk to Him throughout the day. We don't have to get in the mood, get in prayerful position... We just need to acknowledge Him in every aspect of our daily lives! As we drive - worship Him, as we cook dinner - thank Him, as we prepare that paper/report at work - tell Him how sovereign He is in our life. As...

Instructing my soul on strategy.
Your nation could fall in any number of ways, even in one day, especially considering her hidden financial oppressors and her hate filled enemies. You may yet have opportunity to literally die for your wife, children, grandchildren, brother or neighbor, so prepare yourself. Or you may have opportunity to show them how it is to be done. Or you may have the opportunity to pass from this life to the next in isolation devoid of the necessities of life.
You will show the power of God in weakness one last time and His Son will come to light. His cause will advance more quickly and His body will grow more compact and faster, so prepare yourself. His Divine sequence moves on and you are a vital link in it. Jesus died for the sins of the world and still sheds the accumulated blood of His corporate body, to point to others what He has already accomplished. Jesus will be magnified in your body if you live, or if you die; so be sober minded about your future.
Follow in the footsteps of James, Peter, Stephen, Jesus, and untold numbers of others knowing that your destruction...

Just trying to pull some thoughts together that have been on my mind lately.
I used to be so much closer to my Father than I am today. Such deeper worship. Such intense prayer and intercession times. In worship, prayer or study daily. To the point that I would think something like, "I want to watch a movie or TV. show, do something normal." In actuality I wanted to get away from the spiritual to the carnal for a little while. How backwards I had things. I WAS getting normal. What He would call normal probably. And I would pull myself out of it for a day or so.
Which is like missing church for some. I learned in the beginning to not miss church. Miss one service and it becomes a little easier to miss the next. Then easier to miss another and another till I am totally out. I saw that happen to so many. There are reasons not to forsake fellow shipping with one another. My mom went ‘round and ‘round that mountain. And one day I told that to her. Months later she was not missing anymore and I overheard her telling someone else how it...

Dear God,
Today has been a good day for me. I almost feel guilty saying this because Alex has been struggling with sadness all day. I can only be there for him and hope that as he sees my spirits rise, his will too. Thank you for suggesting I put my letters on this site because the people here are amazing.
I know that you have given me the strength and wisdom to continue on. Today I feel it in my very bones. Of course I still pray that you will return Mark someday. But if this is not your will, I now know I will be fine.
You created me to be a wonderful, loving person. Thank you for helping me to come out of the darkness and see that again.
Please continue to watch over Alex, to help lift his spirits no matter what the outcome. Please also watch over him so that this does not ruin his outlook on relationships. They can truly be wonderful but he is not seeing that part anymore. Remind him of this, so that eventually as he becomes a man, he will be able to open his wounded heart enough to let...

(Posted: 07/23/08 7:39pm)
Our walk with God is one of faith. Most people fail in the simple fact that they cannot believe what they cannot see or touch or hear. We are spirits in an earthly body suit. Our time is limited in this suit, but endless (for believers) as spirits. So we must have faith in our God. He is truth, never changing, and the creator of all. He is speaking to us all the time, if you know how to listen.. When you feel your heart tugging at you and something just doesn't settle with you, pray to God and He will reveal the way.
In the words of Jesus...
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer,
believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Mark (11:24)
Faith in these words will bring joy into your life. When we are right with God, we will live an abundant life. We must put our God first, for He created us for His purpose. When we submit our lives to Him, then we will receive His blessings in abundance.....
Blessings to All,
Lance...

I married a man that I thought believed in God. After we were married I found out at our Easter family dinner that he did not believe to put it mildly. I was devastated! We were married for 6 years. I always felt I had to hide my beliefs and couldnt talk to him about any of it or come under his negative comments and ridicule. Last year my sisters and I began to pray asking Lord to make changes in my marriage. Last January after he returned from a job in AK he told me he was going back and the divorce began. Since he left me he continued to call. He told me he found someome while he was there. I was crushed! The calls kept coming from him. I wouldnt answer for a very long time. Then one night I picked up the phone with out looking at the ID and there he was. We talked off and on and I continued to carry on with my life. Just recently he told me what a mistake he had made and then began to ask about the sinners prayer. I shared with him how to ask the Lord...

Hearing the Whispers of the Holy Spirit
When I allow my mind to wander to the "possible" outcomes of life situations, such as whether or not the long-awaited blessing of a child in my life is going to come to pass, it is almost inevitable that I find myself pondering how I would react if, in fact, the adoption of my child as yet unborn does not become reality.
Let's say, for whatever reason, God has another family in mind for the child. What happens then?
Since I'm promised in God's Word that all things work for the good of those who believe in Him and are called according to His purpose, what is the appropriate reaction to the turn of events?
I am to praise Him in all things, offering my thanks to Him for all things!
Even if the child that I desire to adopt and provide a home is given to another family for reasons that may only be known to God, I am supposed to tell the Lord how thankful I am to Him for His divine will in my life.
My flesh will scream, no doubt.
But the Holy Spirit in my heart will whisper...

Instructing my soul on strategy.
Allow God to work out many advantages over your enemy in this life. It is just a matter of drawing near to Him. Repent for your lack of trust in Him for what is clearly promised. Repent for your unbelief in He who has said it. You have felt shame over sin, now let shame rise over you because of your failure on this issue for it will help you stay focused. Receive many advantages by getting in a right position with regard to God, which is an inward kneeling. Make sure that you belong to Him, and more importantly that i, the center of your heart, belong to Him.
You are promised material blessings but you must first learn to hold them loosely or they will be lifted over me as an idol by your affections. One way to hold them loosely is to give them away when occasion allows or refuse to weep if they are stolen. You are promised health but hold it loosely in case you are called to persecution, torture, or death for His name. You are promised happiness but hold it loosely in case you are called to sigh...

As many historians and researchers have already pointed out, there is no evidence at all that any such person as Jesus ever existed in Judea around the purported time of his life. Here in a nutshell is the truth:
All the stories and miracles and death, sayings, resurrection, etc. were also attributed to earlier gods, such as Mithras, Herecles, Dyonisus, Horus, and many others. No contemporary writer, philosopher, or historian (and there were quite a few) of the time wrote one word about Jesus, a miracle worker who raised the dead, etc. And Jesus, of course, left no writings of his own. Later works, such as the Testimonium Flavium by Josephus in the "Antiquities of the Jews" has been proven to be a 4th century forgery. The four cannonical gospels (Mt, Mk, Lk, and Jn) have now been shown to...

As I went through life, I didn't have a care in the world- I take that back, I did and it was all about me. I lived a life that was "the straight and narrow" and I wasn't a "bad" sinner. What constitutes what a christian is? What makes a good from a bad one? I didn't read the Bible, but I was nice to people. I attended church often, but I didn't commit crime and I was an outstanding citizen. It was a year ago around this time that God did a major awakening in my life. I reflect on it often, not to be digging up past, but to see how I have grown in my walk with Christ. I thank God that he is still in the miracle business and I thank him for blessing my life, by giving me and my husband and I another chance. I have reflected more the last couple of days on the affair, remembering God's plan for me and remembering that He carried me. I love him more today that I can honestly say I ever have. Christ has given me a new start; in my walk with him, a chance...

‘‘In this way we are like the various parts of a human body. Each part gets its meaning from the body as a whole, not the other way around. The body we're talking about is Christ's body of chosen people. Each of us finds our meaning and function as a part of his body. But as a chopped-off finger or cut-off toe we wouldn't amount to much, would we? So since we find ourselves fashioned into all these excellently formed and marvellously functioning parts in Christ's body, let's just go ahead and be what we were made to be, without enviously or pridefully comparing ourselves with each other, or trying to be something we aren't.''
[The Message]
We are made and created with a purpose. God specifically chose us each as an individual with a destiny of greatness ahead of us. We are like one puzzle piece in a great picture put together by God. On our own we can accomplish a certain amount in our own strength but in combination with God and other Christians around us we can accomplish the unimaginable. When God puts his super onto our natural body we become...

From "The Purpose Driven Life" By Rick Warren
Planned For God's Pleasure
"For God planted them like strong and graceful oaks for his own glory." Isaiah 61:3 LB
"Because of His love God has already decided that through Jesus Christ he would make us His children-this was His pleasure and purpose." Ephesians 1:5 TEV
In my life, worship is such a HUGE aspect. i've always got David Crowder or BarlowGirl or KLOVE playing, and i study piano from worship music books like Casting Crowns and MercyMe. i am working on some form of music on a variety of instruments every day. it's like eating for me, take away my music long enought, i'll croak. But worship isn't just the music; high powered, "grace-like-rain" and "here-is-our-king", on your knees, tears streaming, and rawkfists (maybe that's just me). Worship is a life style. one year at camp the theme was Worship. The girls in my cabin and i came to the conclusion that worship is "giving your best to the Lord in EVERY aspect of your life." Rick Warren wrote "Worship is far more than music...You may think of worship services with singing, praying, and listening to a sermon. Or you may...

How does someone discover God's will? Is God's will knowable? Is it mysterious? Does God have a preferance about what school someone attends or what job they take? Does God have a specific will for my life? What happens if I marry the wrong person or take the wrong job? How do I determine God's will?
Ever ask such questions? I think often times we get way to stressed out when it comes to discovering God's will. Personally, I do not see God's will as a rubix cube or a puzzle to solve. I do not think God had an exact plan for every decision of your life and each mistake you make takes you further and further from God's best for you. If you study the passages in the bible that relate to the will of God you will find that it is not at all a mysterious thing. At least not now that the mystery of God in Christ is revealed. Paul seems to assume in many of his letters that his people know God's will for them. Never is there an indication that God's will is a difficult thing to grasp. Paul in Acts 20:27 tells the...

Like many of the other new people, this is the first time I've tried blogging. I found this site on an internet search for Christian bloggers. I wasn't even sure there was such a thing but here I am. I have to admit that it is a little scary to put my words out there for others to read. I guess I'm afraid of put downs, etc. From what I've read so far there isn't any of that here. Well.. I am a happily married woman of 56. My husband of almost 5 years and I met online on a Christian website. We prayed for Christian mates and call this our "arranged" marriage. Arranged by God! I also have MS (Multiple Sclerosis) which is a nerve disease. I've had that for 14 years. God didn't give it to me, He just allowed me to have it. I've found that I have a much better life now than before I got it. I am so very blessed and others tell me I am an encouragement to them. I don't know how but that is what I am told. Well, I guess this hasn't been as hard as I expected, it was...
