Besides what was mentioned in the article as sources of the confusion, there are many traditional teachings that seem to have been influence by these sources as well. This truth will revolutionize people's concept that preach the gospel today.
1. People have been taught that they should receive the Lord Jesus so that when they die they will not go to hell but to heaven. This is not right. It is a false hope. The true gospel is the gospel of the Kingdom of the Heavens! When people receive the Lord Jesus, their spirit becomes mingled with His and they are a part of His Kingdom on earth TODAY! When they die they go to the pleasant section of hades and when Jesus returns, the dead shall rise first and those that are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the air to receive their reward at the judgment seat of Christ! This is the Christian hope. Christians should be told that they do not have to wait to die for our spirits to be with Him in Heaven. The heavens are already joined to earth in our spirits TODAY. Going to heaven because we die...

There once were two brothers who lived near each other and each had a different profession. One brother was a rancher, who took care of the flock of sheep. He made sure predators didn't harm them and that they didn't wander off into the wilderness and fall over a cliff. He was happy doing what he did and was content with the lifestyle associated with tending animals.
The other brother was a farmer. His life revolved around the multiplicity of things needed to take a plot of dirt and see it become a rich garden full of fruit producing plants of all kinds. The ground needed to be worked, seeds planted, weeds removed and finally the fruit harvested. He was happy doing what he did and was content with the lifestyle associated with working the land.
Neither brother's profession was better than the other's. They were both necessary to provide food and clothing to the families. Neither brother could, or did claim to be more important. They functioned as equals as well as brothers. Whenever they got together they laughed and argued and did all the things brothers do when the work is done and it's time to have fun....

If you've been reading my blogs, then you know that I am going through alot of changes in my life. A college professor of mine was always saying, "get out of your comfort zone." He didn't tell me it would be so hard. I'm gonna have to talk to him about that. :-) Anyway, I think I have finally realized that the changes I am going through are going to be for the best and that I've been having such a hard time because Satan wants me to have a hard time. I have been a mess. My emotions have been a total wreck, but I feel like I am getting back on track now. I thought my husband was not really wanting to listen to my hurts, but that has all changed. One of you suggested I write him a letter and I took your advice. When he finally read it, he finally understood me. It has since opened up the lines of communication like never before. For the first time in a really long time, I feel like he and I are on the same page, working toward the same goal. I don't feel so alone anymore. He's...

This is my 1st blog, I'm just looking to be more consistant in my walk w/God & meet others for the purpose of uplifting.
My pastor is going thru the lives of OT saints, & he got on the subject of keeping your focus on God. For the past I don't know how long, I have been paralyzed in my life by looking at the situation & trying to figure out what to do, how to do it, reactions of loved ones, etc, that I felt like I couldn't do anything (if that makes any sense). Pastor was talking about Abel. Abel was just trying to worship the most high, he wasn't concerned with how much his brother was offering, wasn't concerned about his brother's reaction or murderous intent-- Abel wanted to give an offering to God & didn't let anything hinder him from doing that. During the ending prayer the pastor said something like "God, let us be used by you", & that really struck a chord w/me & since then, the one thing on my mind has been- God, let me be used. I am tired of being afraid of what people will say, think, do- I just...

In a recent comment, I mentioned that our Pastor and his wife are soon leaving to go into full time Missions. We have another family that is also being sent by our church into the Mission Field. Both couples are now Missionaries with Churches In Missions.
I have the greatest respect for these people! They are answering the 'Call' and heading out where I can not yet go, or may never be able to go.
However, I can pray.....and I can send!
Here's a link to a video that sums it up.

This short "Question & Answer" has been copied with permission from the book "The Treasury", written by Anne Kalvestrand. The question's were asked of, and answered by, Pastor Bill Johnson, Senior Pastor, Bethel Church, Redding, California. USA.
Question: Is the tithe a principle only for those who live under the Law of Moses?
Answer: No.
, Abraham practices the tithe 400 years before the Law was given - "Melchizedek, king of Salem ... to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all..." Hebrews 7:1-1
, Jacob also tithed. "... of all that You give me I will surely give a tenth to You." Genesis 28:22
, The Law ratified the wisdom of tithing. "And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord's; so it is holy to the Lord." Leviticus 27:30
, Jesus confirmed the principle of the tithe. "... you pay tithe of the mint and anise and cummin ... these you ought to have done..." Matthew 23:23
Question: Did the early church fathers practice tithing?
Answer: Yes
Jusitin Marrtyr, Renaeus, Tertullian, Cyprian, Irenaius, Ambrose, Augustine, and many more.
"Our ancestors used to...
