Jesus was passing by to Jerusalem and he saw a fig tree and went to discover it had only leaves-no fruit, it was not the season. It says in Mark 11:12-14,
[...12 On the following day, when they came from Bethany, he was hungry. 13 And seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to see if he could find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. 14And he said to it, "May no one ever eat fruit from you again." And his disciples heard it...]
And we think intently for the season for bearing fruit, it says in Ecclesiastes 3:1-9,
["...1For everything there is a season, and(A) a time for every matter under heaven:
2a time to be born, and a time to(B) die;a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; 3a time to kill, and a time to heal;a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4a time to(C) weep, and a time to laugh;a time to mourn, and a time to(D) dance; 5a time to(E) cast away stones, and a time to(F) gather stones together;a time to embrace, and a time to(G) refrain from embracing; 6a time to seek, and a time to(H) lose;a time to keep, and a time to(I) cast away; 7a time to(J) tear, and a time to sew;a time to(K) keep silence, and a time to speak; 8a time to love, and a time to(L) hate;a time for war, and a time for peace...]
I think we examined this before that this is the time to come forward and be saved. This is the time to be counted. This is roll-call time. We shouldnt take this Passover lightly. This is the season when our Lord gave it all for us. This the season for the very purpose of salvation. This the season to visit those in prison, clothe the naked, feed the hungry, welcome the stranger. The account of the new season goes as follows,
["... 31(A) "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him,(B) then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32Before him(C) will be gathered(D) all the nations, and(E) he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates(F) the sheep from the goats. 33And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. 34Then(G) the King will say to(H) those on his right, Come, you(I) who are blessed by my Father,(J) inherit(K) the kingdom(L) prepared for you(M) from the foundation of the world. 35For(N) I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you(O) gave me drink,(P) I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36(Q) I was naked and you clothed me,(R) I was sick and you(S) visited me,(T) I was in prison and you came to me. 37Then the righteous will answer him, saying, Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you? 40And(U) the King will answer them,(V) Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these(W) my brothers,[a] you did it to me.
41"Then he will say to those on his left,(X) Depart from me, you(Y) cursed, into(Z) the eternal fire prepared for(AA) the devil and his angels. 42For(AB) I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me. 44Then they also will answer, saying, Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you? 45Then he will answer them, saying, Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these,(AC) you did not do it to me. 46And these will go away(AD) into eternal punishment, but the righteous(AE) into eternal life...]
This is not a good time for some. Some who trusted in themselves in this time will lament in the next. It is totally fearful to contemplate this new season of glory for some and lament for others. Wheter we are the ones serving or the ones receiving the bread, it will affect both ways. May we stand in this fearful season to come and recieve the crown of everlasting glory. May you be blessed. Amen.
