English:
Blessed are the Cracked for through them the Light shines. Its a beautiful morning here in Ireland, the rain is falling gently, the wind is picking up to a nice gale force 8 and the temperature is a balmy summers 12c. In these sub tropical temperatures I have been thinking about my life and the way in which God has shaped it and moulded it. As some of you know, I have had a pretty easy journey in comparison to some, and a horrendous journey from the view point of others. But through the the many ups and downs of my life, I have come to realise one thing, and it is this€ Through the cracks the many many mercies of God shine. You see, had I never sat at the bedside of my son while he fought for life I would not have known the healing mercies of God. Had I not been broken hearted because of a death in the family, I could not have testified to the comforting hand of God. Had I not been terrified when younger, I could not stand here and claim to know the peace which passes all understanding. Do you get my drift today? Its the hard, tough, unbearable days that allow the love of God to really shine. Its when we are as low as we can be that we can feel the power of God lifting us and carrying us. Without the bad days we would not experience first hand the healing, comfort, grace, mercy, steadying hand of God. How can we speak of these qualities of our God if we have not tasted them? Of course I ask God that he keep these days from me. I dont cherish nor ask to be walking in the valley. But when I do, and we all do, believe me; I want this cracked pot to let the light in.
