English: To begin this second level of Bible study is simply to move from one verse to the next. To take one verse at a time as ordered above, and to allow it to become the new topic of devotion. If one moved from verse to verse in order, they would be studying the Bible in a classic commentary on the whole Bible manor. The idea before us is more like a Naves Topical Bible type of study, where one looks up all the references of the first topic, and then moves on to the topics that those references lend themselves.
Again this is not for heart transformation but rather is a spiritual hobby for one who has a measure of transformation and is somewhere between illumination and transformed godliness, or between sanctification and perfection for those with a Wesleyan orientation. No, im not saying that one does not need to frequently revisit repentance and purification! We experience a present progressive salvation in that: except a man be born again, he cannot even see the Kingdom and; those who endure until the end shall be saved. After all, to obey the directive to study to show yourself approved does come with a great promise!
There are some good topical studies that help get a grasp of the Bible as a whole which i have not covered because they do not start with Genesis 1:1, or they are just too large! For example if one takes the 1st subject of the Bible (God/Gods) and collects everything revealed about Him/Them in the Bible, it is estimated that the compiled list would be 20,000 items long! Years ago there was a book series concerning the Alls of the Bible: all the women of the Bible, all the kings of the Bible, etc.. An exhaustive list on any subject in the Bible can certainly be helpful. There are 3 such studies that have been of great interest and blessing to me down through the years: 1) all the questions of the Bible (seeing if i can answer them), 2) all the prophecies of the Bible (seeing if they are fulfilled or not), and 3) all the promises of the Bible (seeing if i have the benefits or not). However, lets use this post as a marker for the upcoming second wave of Biblical evidence.
... all to the glory of God!!
