Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Faith is a firm belief in something for which there is no proof.
Without faith it is impossible to please God.
Faith is our lifeline to Jesus who is our eternal life with Him.
If we were to receive complete revelation and perfect understanding would faith remain?
Does God have faith? God is perfect and being perfect includes having perfect knowledge. God does not need faith. God perfectly knows the ending before time begins.
There are some who claim to have or claim it is possible for one to acquire perfect knowledge while in this life. At this time there is no such thing on earth. The only perfect knowledge which exists is from above.
Even if someone completely and perfectly understood the written word of God from cover to cover (not that anyone does) their knowledge and understanding would be like a particle of dust on the earth when compared to what there is to know about God.
None ever come close to perfect understanding of the beginnings, much less all which follows.
For example, beginning in the beginning, Ill give something to ponder on. For the sake of peace Ill skip the creation account even though there is very little understanding beginning with the first verse in the bible.
Lets go directly to Cain and Abel. Do we truly understand what we are reading about these two? Most of us have a fixation in our minds about good brother Abel and bad brother Cain. However, how accurate is this?
Cain was Adam and Eves first child of the flesh. We know names have much meaning and in the original Cain is "qayin " meaning: in the original sense of fixity: a lance (as striking first):- spear.
And so Cain was their first child and he did strike (spill anothers blood) first.
They named their second child Abel. In the original Abel is "hebel " meaning: emptiness or vanity; figuratively something transitory and unsatisfactory; often used as an adverb:- X altogether vain, vanity.
Since names do have meaning this revelation should open some eyes. Was Abel truly the good child we have been led to believe he was?
Now Cain was a farmer and Abel was a shepherd. In the process of time Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the Lord. An offering of his labors. In the process of time in this verse literally means at the end of days.
Abel did likewise. He brought the fruit of his labors, the first born of his flock and of their fat.
The Lord respected Abel and his offering, but He did not respect Cain and his offering. Has your understanding of this scripture ever placed a check in your spirit?
This may not seem like much to many. However, God does speak to us symbolically. He sent His Word and signified by His angel to His prophets. What does signify mean to you? Every word in the bible is significant. In the old we find many types and copies.
Have you ever considered Cain and Abel to be types or copies of people to come? If so, then who is Seth? By the way, Seth in the original is "sheth " meaning: put, that is, substituted.
Am I preaching or teaching against knowledge. Heaven forbid! Everyone has a duty to abide in His Word. To grow and mature in Him. To search the scriptures daily to see what is true.
What I am saying is never allow the knowledge you have received to foster any seed of arrogance within you.
Pride comes before a fall and arrogance has no room in the Kingdom of God.
