Where is the power of God? Have you ever wondered at the lack of it in Gods people? Why was it so manifest in the days of Moses and the early church? Why do we not see that same power today? Indeed, during past moves of God, there have been manifestations of power. Why have they not continued? Why do we not see them more today? THE POWER OF GOD Mystery or History? I would ask you to consider the following from War on the Saints: [blockquote] A perspective view of the ages covered by the history in Bible records, shows that the rise and fall in spiritual power of the people of God, was marked by the recognition of the existence of the demoniacal hosts of evil. When the Church of God in the old and new dispensations was at the highest point of spiritual power, the leaders recognized, and drastically dealt with, the invisible forces of Satan; and when at the lowest they were ignored, or allowed to have free course among the people. . . Taking a perspective view, from the time of Christ on throughout the early history of the Church, up to the giving of the Apocalypse, and the death of the Apostle John, the manifested power of God wrought (in varying degrees) among His people, when the leaders recognized and dealt with the spirits of evil--a period corresponding to the Mosaic period in the old dispensation.[/blockquote] I encourage you to read the entire chapter at http://www.the-tribulation-network.com/Deception/war_on_the_saints/wots_ch2.htm which gives a detailed biblical reference. I ask you to consider this. Is a key element of the manifest power of God reliant on the recognition and dealings with demonic spirits? For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.[ii] The church is to continue in the works of Jesus. Certainly, no one thinks that all the works of the devil have been destroyed. Then the question remains, why is the majority of the church acting as if it has? SELAH stop and think about these things!
