Most churches have some form of "elders" in the church. The pastor(s) are usually considered to be the head elders of the church. Most churches will have boards of people to make decisions for the welfare of the church, with the pastor usually the head or chair of that board. Many of these board members are usually considered or appointed an elder in the church. These people considered to be the elders will usually be the ones that make and guide all the spiritual decisions in the church community. A pretty important position, dont you think? So let us consider how we make these choices of who will lead the churches of our day. For some common sense to be put into this subject, let us look at how our great military has provided this hierarchy of command and responsibility. Whether a person is an enlisted soldier or an officer in the military, there is a certain hierarchy of ranks and responsibilities that go along with those ranks. Let us take a look at the officer side of the military. To be an officer in the military they have to have 4 years of college and training in required military knowledge and testing in that knowledge before they can become the lowest rank in the military officer hierarchy. As they continue in knowledge, experience, and grow in wisdom in their job, they are promoted up through the ranks. In the beginning of their military career they are in charge of very little, while towards the end of their military career they can become a very high ranking general and be in charge of a very large portion of the military. Now for the common sense part of all this, which should be obvious to most, why doesnt the military put a lowly lieutenant, which has just earned his rank - fully in charge of a battleship? He has four years of college. He has learned the military knowledge. Why cant he/she be trusted with the job and responsibility of being a battle ship captain? What is he/she missing - of course they are missing the experience and wisdom to have that job. So why do we accept people as the head elder (leader) of our churches when they dont have the experience or wisdom of God to do that job? They went to college and have gained in biblical knowledge. Does that mean they have the Holy Spirits insight to know what that knowledge means? Wisdom only comes from Gods Holy Spirit. Just because they have a certificate from some seminary, how do we know the seminary has taught them with Gods wisdom or with the world s foolishness? Do they have the wisdom to spiritually console an older person with Gods real truth if they havent experienced life much for themselves yet? Let me tell you, we have most of our churches with the blind leading the blind. We have men and women full of earthly and biblical knowledge that have very little Godly wisdom, which are the elders of our churches. This has gone on for so long that the real truth of God is very hard to find in our churches today. The real truth is still in Gods scriptures, but the leaders of our churches have lost the wisdom to what those scriptures really mean. I have found that there are very few in the churches today that really do have the wisdom of God. These few have been truly filled by Gods Holy Spirit - not the pretend spirit filling that most people believe in today. This pretend filling of the spirit is what almost every pastor in our churches has today. This pretend filling of the spirit is also what they teach, because that is all they know. They have a partial spiritual experience with God and a partial wisdom of God as the result. So, they end up not really being filled with the fuller wisdom of God that is needed to lead the church. Almost all of these people that are truly filled with Gods Holy Spirit are very old and might not have many years left on this earth. When they are gone, so will the true wisdom and experience of God go with them - unless we start recognizing the lack of leadership in our churches and decide to fully submit to God and become holy (as He is Holy). The church is dying fast and it will be gone soon unless we decide to fully submit, receive the fullness of His Holy Spirit and have a true full experience with God - then we can share Gods true wisdom with all the lost in the churches. Let us start listening to the last few true elders of the church before they are gone. Let us stop listening to what we want to hear, or want to believe - let us believe the real truth, Gods Truth, and not just the parts we want to hear. A partial truth will always be used by the devil to deceive, kill, and destroy. Hos 4:6 - My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge James 1:5 - If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
