English:
I had forgotten... the quietness of the night Once I was child of the darkness... small and alone. [spacer][spacer][spacer]-And the darkness was my friend. No one could see how small I was... How insignificant and afraid. The darkest wrapped itself around me, and whispered low... Its voice the soft teasing breeze of the trees. A soft lullaby... full of comfort and love. It did not judge me, or hurt me... cause me pain. [spacer][spacer][spacer]-And then tell me that it loved me. It accepted me as one of its own... Like the owl in the tree, and the bat of the air... [spacer][spacer][spacer]-The darkness was my friend. But somehow as I grew into a man... As I learned lifes lessons of toil and pain... Somehow... some way... I forgot... [spacer][spacer][spacer]-That the darkness was my friend. Tonight... man grown... I stopped to listen to the night. [spacer][spacer][spacer]-And slowly... oh, so slowly... I learned again... [spacer][spacer][spacer][spacer][spacer][spacer]The language of the night. I heard the sweet chirp as mother sparrow... [spacer][spacer][spacer]-Sang her children to sleep. I heard my old friend Squirrel... -Scolding me gently from the pecan tree. "See," he said, "See, I tried to tell you!" "But you had forgotten my language... [spacer][spacer][spacer]-The language of the night!" And as I gently sank onto my bench beneath the tree... I closed my eyes and heard again... afresh... [spacer][spacer][spacer]-The darkness sing to me. I recognized its song... from of old... But now I heard with new ears, [spacer][spacer][spacer]-That old familiar special song, [spacer][spacer][spacer][spacer][spacer][spacer] ...the night sang to me. In a voice so gentle... like a mother to newborn child. It reminded me of Gods Love... that never fades away. In our darkest hour... it awaits us... just a prayer away. And when we feel so alone... so lonely and alone. And tears fill our eyes... it is His touch within the breeze... [spacer][spacer][spacer]-That wipes our tears away... It is His arms around me... that hold me in the night. And as the stillness of the night... seeps deep within my bones. [spacer][spacer][spacer]-Soon... oh, so soon, it matched the stillness... [spacer][spacer][spacer][spacer][spacer][spacer]-At last again, within my soul. -And as I finally stirred... stood tall, and breathed deep the air. I finally realized why the darkness was my friend. There is no place where there is not God... No valley so deep, nor mountain so high... No young boys pain so slight as to be ignored... Every where we look... stand... and breath... Our Lord surrounds us with His Presence... Love and Peace. He never forsakes us... it is us who lose our way... Forgotten amidst our darkness... He awaits our return... Im so glad He never left me... So sad it took so long to learn... Awaiting our call from the darkness... Him, our comfort and strength to be Awaiting amidst our darkness... Our Lord, our Father... Our Friend. Psalm 139:7-8,11-12 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.
