English: It is important that we always keep our relationship with God honest and real. By real, I mean that we must be willing to truly share with Him not only our moments of joy, happiness, sadness, or sorrow, but also our doubts, fears, and concerns. Too often we think that to express doubt to God, and our fellow brethren is to show a lack of faith. Contra... God already knows our doubts and our fears! -All we are denying ourselves is a chance to have an honest, as well as close, intimate relationship with the Lord.
This willingness to be honest about our true feelings... all our doubts and fears... is even more important when we are searching for that special someone that we wish to spend the rest of our life with. For some strange reason, most Christians I have spoken with seem to think it is possible to date members of the opposite sex without having any problems with desire, or it&039;s sinful counterpart... lust. -To be honest, that not only did not make sense, but was thoroughly confusing to me. God made me! He knows my innermost parts... my innermost thoughts and feelings. Sure, I can convince my friends, brothers, and sisters that I don&039;t have those sort of feelings, but how am I suppose to fool God? The answer, my brethren, is that I can&039;t, and the truth is, I won&039;t. Satan is the Master Deceiver, so denial of what we are feeling, or lying to cover it up, makes him do a happy little dance! -So how do we handle it?
The first step is learning to be honest with yourself. God created each of us as separate and different creatures. We already know that some people are smarter than others. Some are quicker, faster, or have different talents. -So why do we find it so difficult to believe that some people have stronger desires or different needs than others?
The next step is confessing those desires or needs to God. Again, He already knows! He does not need to be told. It is us that need to accept what we are feeling, and be willing to admit to Him that we need His support and guidance as we move forward into the relationship. We should never start, or be in any relationship, that God is not an entwined part of!
Have you ever really looked at a hemp rope? Sailors learned long ago that by weaving three strands of hemp together that they created a rope that was stronger than any of the three strands separate. -So it is with us. As a Christian, God is already entwined in our heart and in our souls. The same is true of our potential Christian mate, but then an interesting thing happens... As we build our relationship with Christ as the center... His Presence and His Touch begins to weave our hearts into three strands that are strong, and continue to grow stronger...until they bind into a bond that can never be broken. This is what we seek, and is God&039;s special blessing to each of His married couples. But...
(Sigh) -The first steps continue to be a need to be honest with God and yourself. I drew a deep sign, my friends and brethren, because this is not as easy as it sounds. It is a slippery slope between desiring someone, and lust. Desire is God&039;s gift to signal our attraction to each other, but it is Satan that tries to twist that God-given attraction into lust. What makes that slope so slippery is that in many of our societies today, acting upon sexual attraction is now socially acceptable. Letting lust become the center of any relationship always condemns it in the end. The answer continues to be keeping God centered in your life and in your relationship. You must be willing to face any slips admit any failures, and humbly ask God to help you keep your focus on Him. Satan will try to convince you that God will not forgive you if you slip, falter, or fall! -But God will always forgive us, and continue to help us as long as we are sincerely seeking to do His Will. And, with His help, one day you will have the strong and loving relationship that you seek. And God will have a strong Christian couple, and a strong vessel for His Purpose and His Use! Amen, and amen?
