Greetings Everybody,
A few minutes ago we switched our website from using our previous Blog Publishing System to a brand new one we have been working on and testing for a few months! This new Blog Publishing System is much easier to use, provides a great many new features, and is "just fun to use" as one of our testers put it!
The new Blog Publishing System is divided into 6 easy to use steps to help new bloggers through the process of learning to blog, as well as making things go much faster for the power bloggers.
New Features:
We have been able to add a number of new features, some rather small and some really big and a couple that are really great new features!
"Live Preview"
This new features will display your blog message *as you type it* below your message typing area so that you can see exactly what it is you are writing, which can reduce the number of times some of you hit the "preview" button to see your changes.
"Growing message textarea"
This new feature will cause the message textarea (the spot where you type your message) to automatically expand down - to grow - as you continue to type your message and get near to reach the bottom of the textarea. For folks who write fast and write a lot this will be a truly neat and helpful new features!
"Publish It Later"
This new feature, reserved for Pledge Partners, will allow you to set a future date and time to have your automatically blog published - very awesome!
The way it works is you enter a specific year/month/day/hour/minute that you want the ChristianBlog.Com website to automatically publish your blog and it will do so at that exact time.
It will perform all of the normal features that the standard publishing feature does - such as posting a message to the ChristianBlog.Com twitter account, and sending out wall messages, updating your profile and listing them on the home page of our website.
Where this feature comes in really handy is if you are somebody who likes to blog on the exact day (or perhaps every day) yet you write your blogs ahead of time, you can now write them here at the ChristianBlog.Com website, but not publish them at the same time, and instead tell the website to publish them at a time of your choosing!
We have reserved this feature for only Pledge Partners as it falls outside the boundaries of a feature that most bloggers need - it is a feature that many power bloggers have needed for some time - and that is where our Pledge Partnership comes into place, providing power bloggers some advanced features for a small monthly fee - and to help support our continued ministry.
In Closing:
We know that a number of the new features are very dependent upon the types of browsers that people use - such as the expanding textarea feature - and while we have tried testing these new features on as many browsers and OS types as possible, we just do not have them all. So should you encounter any issues with the new Blog Publishing System please submit a bug report (please check to make sure an identical bug report has not already been submitted by somebody else in the last few days) and we will do our best to fix it as quickly as we can solve the problem.
