Judgment came to Israel in AD70. Jerusalem was destroyed, every rock of the temple crumbled, and the Jewish people were scattered all over the world. No one knew if they would ever see their homeland again. Not knowing the Scriptures most people around the world believed Israel would never exist as a nation again. But it happened! In May of 1948 the whole world was amazed with the news of Israel becoming an independent state. Even more amazing, on their own land. Land given to them by God, according to the Scriptures. In 1967 Israel recaptured Jerusalem. I cant imagine the joy which must have filled their hearts. Jews from all around the world have returned to their homeland over the last 75 to 80 years. Their returning continues today. However, most of those who have returned are not true Israel. Only a remnant of them are. True Israel, the House of Jacob, will return during the Millennium Kingdom of God on earth. A prophet of old prophesied of the judgment of Israel some 845 years before it began. His prophecy revealed why they would be judged, how long the judgment would last, and when they would return to their homeland. I feel sure that the prayer he prophesied they would pray is being prayed by true Israel where ever they are today. "Come, and let us return to the Lord; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up. " The prophecy tells us God was angry with them because of their lack of faithfulness. Their faithfulness was like a morning cloud and the early dew, it goes away. They had transgressed the covenant and were evil doers defiled with blood. They robbed, murdered, an committed all kinds of lewdness. God had taken them as His wife and they were adulterers, not honoring Him, not being faithful to Him. As if all that wasnt bad enough, they didnt recognize their Messiah. They rejected Him and were responsible for His crucifixion. Therefore, as apostle Paul also affirms, they were broken off the vine. Their judgments are like light (revelation) that goes forth. For He desired mercy and not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. One day soon Israel will once again be the apple of Gods eye. They will return and pursue the knowledge of the Lord. God will come to them like the rain, like the latter and former rain to the earth. He will pour out His Spirit upon them. The writer of Hebrews writes of the New Covenant with Israel in chapter 8. A harvest is appointed to them when God returns them from captivity. When will this happen one would ask. The prophet tells us: "After two days He will revive us; On the third day He will raise us up, that we may live in His sight. " Days in this scripture are millenniums. So, after 2000 years He will revive then; When the third millennium arrives He will raise them up. There exists differences of opinions as to when their judgment began. Some say it began on the day Christ was crucified. Others say it began in AD70 when Jerusalem fell and the temple was destroyed. Either way, the time is near. Study Hosea chapter 6. Blessings, Tch
