I went to my local Christian book store recently, and I discovered a massive section of books which were all novels.
What do you think abut Christian Fiction?
I have read a few and to be honest, I have never found one that has really resonated with me.
ANd Im not talking the allegorical writings of CS Lewis or Tolkien, Im talking modern fiction with people solving crimes, or books about journalists, private investigators, lawyers etc.
And the romance books! My goodness, I dont think Ive seen that many romance books!
All the same as you can get in any regular book shop.
Are Christian novels a good thing?
If we read them instead of a novel from say a James Patterson or a Jodi Picoult are we just reading basically the same thing?
I have no answers to the question, I was just surprised at the total plethora of these books, it took me quite by surprise!
So what do you think?
Do you read Christian novels? Are they helpful? Can they help us understand the gospel better? Do we have too many?
I would love to hear some thoughts and discussion on this.
