I am normally the first in any discussion to say that I am not very fond of internet chatrooms, but today that is exactly what I want to discuss with you. Most chatrooms do not interest me because most of them are usually out-of-control and poorly monitored for inappropriate discussions and comments. They especially offend me when the chatroom is suppose to be for Christians… and heaven forbid! … accessible by minors! So today, I want to discuss with you what I feel is one of the most unused asset&039;s that we have on Christianblog. –All of the members of this wonderful website either love to read or write blogs, of course, but how many of you realize what a wonderful opportunity for Christian fellowship you are missing while you are here doing either on this website? -Even as I write this blog, I am also “hanging out” in the chatroom. Why? –Because even though no one is in there right now, someone might come here… to this website… needing someone to give them an encouraging word, a spiritual boost, a word of comfort, or someone to pray for/with them. Did you know that Christianblog has a separate prayer “room” in the chatroom that allows us to pray together without any interruptions? –And what wonderful prayer it can be! –Can you imagine? Having a prayer partner from the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and from just about every other point on the globe raising up your prayer request? You know such a prayer would truly be sweet smelling incense before the throne! (Psalms 41:2) While it is true that we quickly get serious in the chatroom when someone has a problem or questions that needs discussed… it is also a place to meet new friends, fellowship with old ones, laugh, joke, and have a good time together. –Those times together remind us that “fellowshipping” is not always done “in the flesh”. -It is also a SAFE place to do so as our chatroom is also monitored to ensure that all discussions and language being used is appropriate. Christianblog continues to be a growing community, and a growing ever-changing website. During one of those growth spurts, we had a large influx of new people coming into the chatroom, which while being a wonderful thing to experience also caused some technical glitches to develop in the chatroom software. –The ensuing glitches eventually caused many old and new brethren to become frustrated (myself included), and quit utilizing the chatroom as often. –No one there as often… more people began to fade away… -John (website tech guru/owner) has done a wonderful job of correcting those glitches, which basically just means that we need to get the word out to all old and new members that the chatroom is fully open for fun and friendship once more! I urge all of our members to “sign-in” to the chatroom while visiting the website. It is simple to do, and you are still able to read or write blogs while signed into the chatroom. The chatroom has lovely sound effects… one of which (a doorbell) lets you know when someone has come into the chatroom, and when someone has made a comment. –Your being there not only encourages others to come in to visit, but also shows someone with a question, or a prayer need, that someone is in the chatroom to talk and pray with. While this website might not be classified as a church, it is definitely a ministry. And, as such, it is another opportunity for us to witness, uplift, encourage, and fellowship with other believers. –These are all part of our calling as Christians! The real question is... are we WILLING to use that calling and this opportunity? Maranathan! – Aramaic for Our Lord Comes!
