English: Last week I was totally exhausted, flattened, like a crepe. After a weekend of imitating a beached whale, I was revived and today bore witness to that fact. We spent five hours in MosselBay and I had a party! Only happy people came to donate today and everyone was filled with happiness. I asked a new donor if he planned to come back and the darling replied €˜only if you are here. That added an extra bounce to my sensible GreenCross shoes. Two little people sat side by side, blonde and blue, six years old. Each had a giant biscuit in tiny girl hand, a box of fruit juice in another. Are you enjoying your picnic? I asked. Oh, yes, they replied, we are friends you know, that is why we are sitting so close together.
Tiny toes clad in bright pink polish, sparkling Alice bands holding back soft locks. I pondered this picture and remembered when I too sat close, holding a friends hand, sharing a biscuit picnic. Then all of a sudden, one is walking down an aisle, getting lost in the daily grind, forgetting to have fun, a picnic.
Some time ago, someone asked me €˜How can you do you do this every day? Dont you get bored? €˜
€˜Why should I get bored? I get to spend time with delightful people. I have fabulous team-mates. I have a great job. And that is really how I feel.
The bus was a happy place on the way back home. Chatter and laughter filled the space. I closed my weary eyes and just listened to the happiness around me. Randall, a wry smile on his friendly round face, carefully guided the vehicle.
I had prayed about my state of exhaustion, reminding MyFather that as He had provided me with work, He needed to provide me with the tools. HE heard and informed me that I should do my bit, and so resting up over the weekend was obviously just what I needed to do. The cares of this world saps us and it is important to refresh oneself. When you do feel flat, remember to find the reason and then use the remedy. GOD gave us brains, the power of logic, and often we think that we are super heros not needing to heed.
Tomorrow is another day, maybe not so chirpy, however, it will contain what I need and I look forward to it. A fresh bunch of faces will sit on the large chairs and I will hear stories, and share a joke, while extracting the life giving fluid. Its already a good day.
