English:
"It was a dark and stormy night" - Edward Bulwer-Lytton - Paul Clifford. "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times" - Charles (sounds like chickens) - A tale of two Cities. "You dont know about me" - Mark Twain - Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. "I am an invisible man" - Ralph Ellison - Invisible Man. No one should unlearn the art of reading for pleasure. Letting the story take you where its going. Introducing you to strangers, some becoming friends others enemies. Exploring the world of words on a lazy evening is a remarkable way to relax. This is about Bible study a different way. I have heard it said, "The Bible shouldnt be read like any other book" why, I wonder. The narrator is a very good story teller with a wonderful story to tell, if a person would just let him tell it. Let the Author of the book sweep you away, to unimaginable places and far off lands. Introduce you to people much like yourself, some you learn to love, others only barely like, and some despise. The Author never neglects a chance to share a little about himself too, creating a story in a story, woven together like a fine tapestry. There should be a warning label on this marvelous book. You will get hooked in reading this story. Once you read it you will never forget it. The study part When sitting down to read the Bible for pleasure give yourself at least an hour. The one exception to reading it over any other book is remember what you are reading is true. Every word, sentence, paragraph is built upon each other to build the main theme of the Book. Take it at face value, you know, let it say what it has to say, it doesnt matter whether you like it or not, accept it or not, the narrator is telling the story and he is telling the truth of the story. Enjoy each small individual story within the Story but never forget the Author is guiding you to a bigger story with each telling of the smaller sections. So watch how it may build and drop from one to the next. Note how the Author progresss in telling a little more of himself with each smaller episode. The story travels through time fairly quickly, how has it changed, have the people changed, has the Author changed, did the narration change. When reading any great work they affect your emotions, how is this one affecting you through each section, who do you find you like and dislike in each episode told. Try not to think ahead, instead concentrate on what youre reading now. Do you see hope or despair, is the hero going to win or lose, is the damsel going to be saved or eaten by the dragon. Will the invading army be repelled or conquer the kingdom, what is the narrator saying, why is the Author telling this in this way. We all know the ending But how well do we know the Story building up to the ending. Read the number one best seller of all times. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" - God - Genesis. Enjoy a great read today, HR
